Buyer, Seller, HOMEOWNERS AND INVESTORS I looked through over 100 Realtor websites today. You might ask why - I'll get to that in just a bit. This is one of the common things that I saw:
Let me guess: you were trying to make it easy for the buyers to get to the buyer section, and the sellers to get to the seller section, right? BIG NO NO!!! What about the folks who don't call themselves buyers or sellers - the investors and homeowners - WHAT ABOUT THEM? Where should they go? If you think that most people who go to your website are either already looking to buy or sell, YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. EVERYONE IS A WINDOW SHOPPER, and nowadays, 8 out of 10 investors look online first before dealing with an agent. So when people are coming to your website, THEY ARE SHOPPING. And it's pretty hard to make a sale when you are only offering two options. Ever been to a car dealership? I bet you've never heard the dealer say "We have black and we have white... I don't have a silver Mercedes for you." Here's a thought - let people get cozy on your website. Give them something they can work with. Give them a reason to come back. Allow them to get comfortable with the services you can provide for them. When the time is right and the value is exceptional, they WILL make the decision to use your services. OR you can just continue to experiment. Let me know if you find any successful car dealers holding up signs that say "I want your commission." I bet they would do better if their signs read "I will go above and beyond to provide exceptional service to my clients." Now, you might want to know why I went through over 100 web sites today? I WAS WINDOW SHOPPING... Still haven't found the pair of shoes I'm looking for. User Comments

T-ReX,
Very enlightening! I'm in the final stages of ePro and getting ready to launch my website...what a great piece of information you shared! I will be sure to include homeowners, renters, and later the investors will be added when I am comfortable with material to place there.
You're a wise dino, thanks for window shopping on my behalf!
