The Lazy Elk - Custom Made Log Furniture in Murphy, NC |
Whether you're shopping for a rustic bed for your new log cabin in the mountains or looking for the perfect souvenir from your North Carolina mountain vacation, you're sure to find something that catches your eye.

Conveniently located at 7750 Highway 64 West in Murphy, NC , The Lazy Elk is about 20 miles from Blue Ridge and Blairsville, GA and just a few minutes from the Tennessee border. It's a great place to stop if you're heading for an afternoon of white water rafting on the Ocoee River.
The Lazy Elk has Amish rocking chairs, hand crafted wood lamps with real leather shades, rustic dining room tables and chairs and a wide selection of end tables and coffee tables. There are unique pieces of wall art, coffee mugs. dishes - everything you need to furnish your brand new mountain chalet with items created from nature's bounty.
The Lazy Elk specializes in custom made pieces. Owners Larry and Anna Michael tell me they often have customers come into the showroom with pictures on their cellphones of log furniture they've seen at a friend's mountain cabin or dimensions of a big screen TV needing a cabinet.

It's truly a family-run business. In the adjoining woodworking shop, 16 year old son Tony Michael is adding trim to a special order and a massive tree trunk is being crafted into a unique table base.
From a house full of cabin-style decor to a pair of iron candlesticks for the fireplace mantle, the two story showroom is filled with one of a kind items you'll want to take home with you. The colorful rugs, cozy blankets and wood framed mirrors will evoke mountain memories every time you use them.

The Lazy Elk Rustic Furniture & Decor is open Mon-Sat from 10 AM to 5 PM or you can give Larry a call at 828-644-9945. Be sure to mention you read about their log furniture business on my Murphy, NC blog.
