The content shared on "Leaving a Digital Footprint" left me feeling like maybe I had left my brain somewhere. A lot of the great information that was shared was way over my head. These guys were serious "techno-heads" (don't know if that is a word). They were extremely knowledgeable about the technology we need to be using to funnel real estate business back to ourselves from our blog.
I found Pat Kitano (www.transparentre.com) very interesting. He shared his futuristic comments with the group. I loved his statement regarding social blogging. He said, "As your social blogging evolves, you will become the local real estate professional that the mass media will come to for information in your field". Very powerful stuff.
Link, link and more links was a predominate theme. Link or die. Pictures and video are a must. You must have video and pictues of all of your listings on all of your sites. Get involved with many online communities and you will leave your footprints everywhere. Get on consumer sites and ask them questions. Find out what your customer wants to know about your local real estate market.
Here's where I start to lose them. I have to learn more about the following sites, tools, etc. that this panel touched on.
In no particular order….here we go.
www.facebook.com O.K. I am on that site. I know what this is!
www.zillow.com I get this one too.
www.craigslist.com Clearer picture now.
I know they said more, I just could not write that fast. (I apologize if any of the above are spelled wrong, or are just plain wrong) I have a big technology curve in my future.
Thanks to this great panel and moderator.
