Can Spring go so quickly?

Jun. 27, 2007
Can you believe that next week we will be celebrating the July 4th Holiday?  WOW! Where has time gone.  It seems like just yesterday (mid-May) that the "kids" were graduating from High School.  Now we are less than 45 days from school starting again!  Home sales have been fairly moderate in the Leavenworth County area.  In general, homes are staying on the market alittle longer than last quarter and this means that there is often more inventory.  That is a GOOD thing for buyers.  Buyers have more selections and can negotiate more to get the home that is best for them.  For sellers, it is important to price your home appropriately within the market.  By doing the things that need to be done BEFORE placing your home on the market and being realistic about pricing and time-on-market desires, sellers can still have their home move fairly quickly.  Having someone to give you honest feedback and suggestions is very important in this market.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call.  I hope everyone has a GREAT SUMMER!  Enjoy your family and friends; Take time to relax and have some fun!  I live by this line I used when I was in the Army - "Any day above ground is a good day" (granted some are better than others, but overall, take some time and enjoy life!) - Mike

Spring is here (I think)!

Apr. 23, 2007

Well, this past weekend was VERY WINDY, but warm.  We were fooled earlier this month with a nice warm day (near 80) followed by 10 days of BELOW average temperatures. It really did in alot of flowering and fruit bearing plants that were not protected.  Now, with the warmer temperatures and brighter days, it does seem like there are more people out looking at the inventory on the local real estate market.  I had 5 open houses this weekend and had visitors at all but 1 (I can't complain about that).  Interest rates are still very favorable and if you have any questions about buying or selling a home/property, don't hesitate to ask.  Better yet; ask me about finding you a property which could be an asset (income producing) for your investment portfolio.  I have been working with a young couple over the past 2 years and they are purchasing their 3rd income producing property.  With the proper management and a stable rental market, they are making some of the right decisions for their long term investment needs.
