Ice Cream Sunday... brrr it's cold

Ice Cream Trivia from the Trivia Bot on Twitter:

I like trivia.... I am very good at Trivial Pursuit. I have a category here for Columbus Trivia.  Know any?  Share it.... I also have a category about cows here but the Trivia Bot's cows are just cows in general not Columbus cows necessarily.  I am sure though that Central Ohio cows do their part for ice cream...

More about Ice Cream in Central Ohio?

John Henderson of the Denver Post wrote of
Columbus ice cream amongst his worldly travels:

"The only place in the United States I've managed to find tastes that accurate is, of course, that tropical paradise and ice cream capital of the world: Columbus, Ohio. OK, our image of Columbus is of freezing air billowing out of some crazed Ohio State linebacker during the Michigan game on a 30-degree day in November."

Henderson was talking about Jeni's Ice Cream.  Columbusite Jeni is one of the sixteen women entrepreneuers featured in the book 'Real You Incorporated' by Kaira Sturdivant-Rouda.

Also heard via Twitter this week:

"jeni's new grapefruit hibiscus yogurt rocks!"  from Heather a Columbus food blogger who writes on  Sopressata

May. 13, 2007 - And we wonder why Columbus is chubby...

Jul. 16, 2006 - Ice Cream Sunday

It will be spring soon (Buckey Chuck said so), lots of Ice Cream Sundays in 2008

I'd love to hear from you if you have a comment about ice cream. All comments are moderated so you will not see your comment immediately. Thanks. Copyright 2008 Discover Columbus and Maureen

Or maybe it'scow trivia.
"A dairy cow can produce 5 gallons of ice cream a day"

HER Ranked #1

HER Real Living was once again ranked 1st in The List of Greater Columbus residential real estate agencies, published annual by Business First Columbus. This ranking was published in the Friday, June 10 issue of Business First.

The question was: Who ranked HER Real Living the number one Central Ohio Residential Real Estate firm in 2004?

You are not a Jedi yet

Columbus blog  JasonsPage is having a contest! It sounds like a trivia contest.

I love trivia.

I love contests.

It's Star Wars contest. Darn!  I just don't "get"  Star Wars.  I get Star Trek and Star Wars confused...  I have seen some of the Star Wars movies but not all of them... but I just don't "get" it.

Jason wrote "You are not a Jedi yet."  "The Empire Strikes Back is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is the second act of a play that leaves the Rebels precariously fragmented across the Galaxy."

It's all Greek to me.....

After reading JasonsPage I drifted off into Cyberspace and visited Rain City Guide.. real estate in Seattle... home of Zillow, Starbucks, Microsoft etc.   Robbie, Rain City Guide Database Guru wrote of Zillow's  debut arlier this week:

"After playing with Zillow for the past couple of days, the first words that come to mind are Impressive, but you are not a Jedi yet.

The title of Robbie's blog entry ... "You dont know the power of the dark side"

really, really appeals to me.

I understand real estate. I understand Zillow now that it has finally debuted.   I am not sure I understand the line "You dont know the power of the dark side" but I am going to try to work "You dont know the power of the dark side"  into conversations about Zillow today..... Maybe they will know what I am talking about.

Trivia is My Life

Jan. 31, 2006
Categorized in: Columbus Trivia

I love Trivia.  I loved Trivial Pursuit.

I am crushed that I did not know the answer to the third trivia question of 2006.  HER Real Living's 50th Anniversary is being celebrated with an internal trivia contest.  Works for me!

Question:

What is the name of the company Harley E. Rouda, Sr. worked for as a real estate salesman before he started Harley E. Rouda & Company?

Answer:

Ralph R. Greer Co.

I probably have heard or read that somewhere but "Ralph R. Greer Co." did not stick with me.

I thought about saying "Donahue" or "Buy Ohio"  since I have heard of those companies from the past.   I believe they were the 70's and 80's  rather than the 1950's.   All before my time.

Next week....
