Columbus Restaurant Forum

Don't you love the internet? Websites... Blogs... Forums... Social Networks. Lots of information!

You can find Columbus restaurant reviews and more on great local blogs like:

Bitchin' in the Kitchen with Rosie
CMH Gourmand
Restaurant Widow
Sorrpessata

Are there other Columbus food blogs I am missing? Local foodie forums?

You can join Yelp (a social network?) and do your own restaurant reviews... Yelp says "Real People, Real Reviews"

I wonder if there is an example of the forum for Columbus food and restaurant...

I'd love to hear from you if you have a comment on the topic of food or online forums! All comments are moderated so you will not see your comment immediately. Thanks.

Discover Columbus is fasting

Glass of waterDiscover Columbus is going on a fast... no food for thirty days.

None

Nada

Zilch

No talk of restaurants.  If I write about a Central Ohio event I will not go there (food.)

Why? All the searches that end up on my blog are food, food related and it's got to stop. This is a real estate blog.  Sorta.

I can barely see any trends in my statistics for all the fat... I mean "all the food."  So Discover Columbus is going on a cleansing fast.

It's water for a month.

Visit the food blogs...

The Restaurant Widow - Lisa

Bitchin in the Kitchen with Rosie

Rosie mentions... Lisa's was in the Dispatch...

Part of  the Columbus Dispatch interview of Lisa...

" Q What's a great no-fuss lunch place?

A El Arepazo (Downtown, in Pearl Alley), hands down. It's mostly Venezuelan food. Everything is homemade. I love the pork arepas with cheese. They have this mayonnaise-based spicy cilantro sauce. I could drink the stuff."

Hey I believe I just heard about  Venezuelan arepas ... from a REALTOR®/ bloggers in Miami....

Ines Hegedus-Garcia

Maggie Dokic also from Miami was telling me about Cuban food.... on ActiveRain.com a real estate network.   I can't find the thread but we were talking about Puerto Rican food then  Cuban food and Venezualen food...

It's nearly bikini season....  If this blog fast doesn't work we're starting blog exercise in June.

I don't believe that I knew that  Restaurant Widow Blogger Lisa has a  'Dining in  Cow  Town'  category or tag on her blog until Friday.

Lisa has great food photos on her blog.  I admire photos. I am not a photographer.  I hate taking photos.... you may notice the same cow photos over and over....I buy photos most of mine are from Crystal Graphics.

Amazon Grill.............at Crosswoods that's the one I want to know if Lisa has been to....

We keep saying we have to try it as we drive by.  Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeef.

Best Burgers

Jun. 8, 2006
Categorized in: Best Food and Restaurant

This morning on Good Morning America  I heard a story about Consumer Reports Magazine rating restaurant chains....  I went looking for the story but could not  resist  instead a story about the best burgers.

The four "sit down  and someone will wait on you" chain restuarants burgers which were rated by Consumer Reports Magazine were The Capital Grille , Ruby Tuesday, Outback Steakhouse (danger if you are reading at work... music....), and Hard Rock Cafe.  Two  of the four are represented in Central Ohio, Outback and Ruby Tuesday.....  The best burger,  rated Excellent  according to Consumer Reports.... The Capital Grille's burger is not represented in Central Ohio.

"Price: $11.50
Weight: 10 1/2 oz.
Calories: 845
Fat: 47 g
Sodium: 945 mg

Very beefy and flavorful pan-seared patty. Juicy, tender, and well-seasoned with sweet onion and bacon bits mixed into the meat. Served on a lightly buttered roll topped with caramelized onion bits"

Too much $, too much meat, too many calories IMHO. The other three restaurant chain's burgers were deemed "Very Good" by Consumer Reports.

Columbus,  Ohio Home of:Columbus Ohio home of hamburger chains

Max and Erma's - Erma Burger, Garbage Burger etc.

Wendy's -Dave Thomas' Square Burgers

White Castle - Sliders

Dublin Ohio based Wendy's is in the news.  Wendy's is going to start using "healthier" oil to deep fry their chicken and french fries according to Columbus Business First

Another story in Columbus Business First is that  Beef O'Brady's is coming to town.   Now there's a name that catches my Cowtown ear.  Actually there already is one Beer O' Brady's in Pickerington, a second is coming to Hilliard.  Hamburgers?
