Hares at Ballantrae

It is good luck to say "Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit" the first thing the first day of the month.

Actually these are hares: Dancing Hares Sculptures at Ballantrae.   The community is  in the City of Dublin and the Hilliard school district.

The developer's map of the neighborhoods at Ballantrae shows the Estates at Ballantrae, the Fairways at Ballantrae,  the Glade at Ballantrae,   the Glens at Ballantrae, the Greens at Ballantrae,  the Hamlets at Ballantrae, the Lakes at Ballantrae (Condominiums), the Manors at Ballantrae,  the Villages at Ballantrae, Villas at Ballantrae (Patio Homes),  Woodlands at Ballantrae (Condominiums),  Courtyards at Ballantrae,  Highlands at Ballantrae,  Reserve at Ballantrae and Retreat at Ballantrae.

Developed by The Edwards Golf Communities, the community is 640 acresHares at Ballantrae with a bike showing the scale of “Irish” countryside, ruins, rubble stone walls  and an 18 hole authentic links public resort-style golf course for character.

The Golf Club of Dublin's website says of the public course:

"The history of the project was to create an authentic golf experience of the British Isles without leaving the States and to give Dublin an award winning public golf facility. The project started slowly but has gained full steam as it has been recognized and awarded."

This photo with a bicycle shows the scale of the Dancing Hares.

Did I mention that it is good luck to say "Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit" the first thing the first day of the month.

"Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit"  is supposed to be the first thing you say, the first day of each month for luck... It's a tradition on Discover Columubus... or was on Columbus Best Blog but I forgot a bunch of times.

rabbit multiplying"February is Adopt-A-Rescued Rabbit Month" at the Capital Area Humane Society in an email newsletter they shared:

*

"Have you ever considered rabbit adoption? Rabbits can make wonderful indoor companions for  the right kind of people.

Join us in celebrating

Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month

this February and consider adopting one of the clever, inquisitive rabbits currently housed at our shelter.

Some interesting facts about rabbits:
Rabbits are affectionate and sociable animals.
They can live for 10 years or more.
Rabbits should be spayed and neutered.
Rabbits can live with domesticated cats and dogs.
They prefer the company of others and seek affection and attention.
They can be litterbox trained.
They like to play with toys and explore their environment by chewing (having chew toys for rabbits is a good idea)
Rabbits need protection from predators, poisons, temperature extremes, electrical cords, and rough handling."

The Columbus House Rabbit Society has a blog!  "Karalee's Corner" Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit on Discover Columbus...(formerly Columbus Best Blog)

Good luck in February!

*You can tell that is not a CAHS rabbit pictured  because it is multiplying... all of the Capital Area Humane Society animals seem to be spayed and neutered..... I need new rabbbit images if I am going to do this every month.

"Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit"

Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit is supposed to be the first thing you say on the first day of the month... it's a good luck thing.  Verbally it was not the first thing out of my mouth in August... but blogwise it is...

The first person I ever heard it from is a Columbus Ohio real estate agent., an old friend.

I need a photo of the hare's dancing out at Ballantrae for the first day of the month.... the hare's look like rabbits to me.

Ballantrae is a Dublin neighborhood, with a keltic theme including a fountain of three (? ) hare's dancing.  Ballantrae is in the City of Dublin but is in the Hilliard school district. August first, we are getting closer to "back to school."

Happy August.  Good Luck!
