Powell Property Participates in the National Open House Sunday

Oct. 30, 2007
Categorized in: Columbus Real Estate

And you thought Sunday November 4, 2007 was just the day to fall back...

Nationwide:

"4 days, 12 hours, 11 minutes, and 27 seconds. left"

"This Home".... which home? Edit 1-14-2008.  Link removed.  I am no longer marketing the home, so have removed the link.  There are a lot of great homes on the market in Powell, an over abundance of inventory... I'd love to help you find a home in Powell...

National Open House Sunday... so far my Powell Open House is the only one in Central Ohio... but David Childress of Real Living Realty One in Akron has an Open House on the first National Open house list too...

An Open House opportunity? If you went to my Open House at 2:00 and then drove like "a bat out of hell" could you get to David's Open House... nah and our open houses are two very different price ranges...

...could you make it to any open houses in neighboring states? PA, MI, IN, KY? Why?

Statewide:

In an email from the Ohio Association of Realtors:

"OAR Web site to promote open houses...

An exciting new marketing tool, designed to increase exposure of "open houses," will soon be made available for statewide use by Ohio's REALTOR community. Read more..." <---- not linked

Although red and linked the "read more..." in the email from the Ohio Association of Realtors did not WORK for me...

Local:

Real Living HER's Open House list on our site(s) has 177 listings as of Tuesday morning... that number should grow throughout the week as sellers and agents commit to an open house on Sunday. Not all 177 are Sunday open houses, some are each day of the weeks as this list has Open Houses for new construction and there are homes that are held open other than the typical Sunday Open House too...

Open House - Sunday October 21, 2007

Oct. 19, 2007
Categorized in: Columbus Real Estate

The best open house list in Central Ohio (the open house list of Real Living HER) has 317 make that 336 open houses listed today.

Members of the Columbus Board of Realtors, do have access to a list of all open houses submitted to the MLS. The only problem with that list is most agents do not out their listings on that open house list. For homes in the price range $400,000 to $500,000 (my listing I am holding open this week is in that price range so I looked) there are only 6 homes listed as open, four of those are Real Living HER agents listings.

I email clients the open houses that appear on the MLS list so that they can see what is available and attend open houses if their schedule allows. The Real Living HER list, the public is free to visit at all times for lots of information about the homes that will be open.

The house I am holding open is in Golf Woods in Powell, Edited Link Removed*.  I am no longer marketing the home. Off Sawmill Parkway north of Seldom Seen Rd. and south of Rutherford Rd, great map on the open house site or the Link Removed link to get you there if you are unfamiliar with the Powell area.

Greek Restaurant in Powell

Apr. 23, 2007
Categorized in: Best Food and Restaurant

Did you know? Melina Kanakaredes went to OSU for a year?  Was the first  runner up in the Miss Ohio pagaent? Grew up in Akron (I lived in Akron for a few years so I notice stuff about Akron too.)  That today is her birthday?

happy birthday cupcakeYou may ask who is  Melina Kanakaredes?  I am not that into celebrities.. it was the "a Greek restaurant in the Columbus, Ohio, suburb of Powell, Ohio"  that caught my eye... but she is on the CSI set in New York (never seen it) and she was on the show Providence.... that one I liked.

Personal info about Kanakaredes ccording to a Celebrity Blog*

"She and her husband own a Greek restaurant in the Columbus, Ohio, suburb of Powell, Ohio."

Greek restaurant in Powell???

Huh?  I was going to link to the Celebrity website until I Googled Greek Restaurant in Powell Ohio... everything on the Celebrity blog was word for word from Wikipedia... they just scrape it and post it on a website about birthdays with ads...  lots and lots of ads...   you can read all about it in Wikipedia... including the line about a Greek restuarant in the Columbus, Ohio suburb of Powell.....

Googling "Greek Restaurant in Powell Ohio" another directory or splog assures me...

"There are currently no Greek Restaurant Listed in this Ohio City.  Register and add yourself to the directory today ABSOLUTELY FREE by clicking here or on the link provided above."

I broke all the links in the sentence above.... I'll track it down...

Powell Ohio

This is real estate....    "Columbus Barbies"  was just a joke.  The emails were a joke.  It's a local joke for the blogs that have posted Columbus Barbies....some of it was mean spirited as many blogs and emails are....

Columbus Barbie's even if someone had forwarded it to me is not something I would have forwarded on my RealLiving.com email.

The green bars below are Powell Ohio...the table that the graph was made from the statistics are from Powell Ohio for the past fifteen months*.  the same Powell Ohio as:

" This princess Barbie is sold only at The Polaris Fashion Center. She comes with an assortment of Coach Handbags, a Lexus SUV, a long-haired foreign dog named Honey and a "cookie cutter" $2,000,000.00 house. Available with or without tummy tuck and face lift. Workaholic Ken sold only in conjunction with "augmented" version."

Not so many of those $2,000,000 cookie cutter Powell homes sold in 2006....A house sold in 2003 for over 2 million... in the 43065 zip code, it was not in the City of Powell but rather in Liberty Township (not included in the green bars or tables above.....)  There are probably builder sales in the $2,000,000 range that I am not aware of too....

$2,000,000 cookie cutter houses? Hardly.

"The Polaris Fashion Center"  Yep... it's Polaris Fashion Place... across the street is Polaris Town Center??... Kroger, Best Buy, Old Navy, Lowes, Target etc.  a strip mall....like the strip malls all over Central Ohio... "Polaris Town Center can fill your shopping needs! Located on Polaris Parkway, across from Polaris Fashion Place, you'll find it a quick stop with great shops!" Sometimes called Polaris Town Center, sometimes called Polaris Towne Center (I find both on the Polaris Fashion Center website...)

Hey maybe some of the non real estate stuff in the Columbus Barbie emails might be a stretch too.... More caricature than truth.   Mullets, illegitimate children, drugs, too tight jeans, beer guts, fake finger nails, trailer parks.... may be caricatures of particular Central Ohio neighborhoods...

* These are city of Powell single family and condominium homes... The Columbus Barbies entry it was Columbus and Lewis Center... most versions it is just Powell.  The Lewis Center area is more affordable than Powell.... so to make things less muddy I just did Powell.
