Columbus Metro Parks "Moon" Walks..

Full Moon photo from Geek PhilosspherMoonlight walks on Friday and Saturday.... Saturday is the full moon.

Metro Parks Current Program Schedule and Reservations

I don't believe any of the walks tonight or Saturday require reservations, but the time and details are posted on the Metro Park schedule. Saturday, November 24 is a full moon. In November the full moon is called the Beaver Moon and the Columbus Metro Parks have walks tonight and tomorrow night for the full moon. Check the schedule, I am disappointed the two real full "Beaver Moon" hikes are at two parks farthest away for me.. but I have been looking for a reason to go to Battelle Darby Park to hike... It's been years.

Old Farmers Almanac about why the November full moon is called the full Beaver Moon:

"The November full Moon was named the full Beaver Moon, because for both the colonists and the Algonquin tribes, this was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. "
