National Ice Cream Day

Quick grab a  sundae or a cone... today (the third Sunday of July)  is Ice Cream Day by presidential proclaimation... Yahoo Buzz Log?... mentions Graeter's in the Top 20 Ice Cream Searches.   The scoop on Graeter's from Wikipedia. Some other brands on the list are avaialable in Central Ohio. 

I like coffee Ice cream....  the idea of green tea ice cream disturbs me.... a past client recommend's Jeni's Makers Mark which sounds very adult to me.

The Worthington Historical Society has a history of the Worthington Inn.  I believe the Worthington Inn was at one time Worthington's "Union Hotel"  and another "Central House."

The Worthington Inn's History says:

"In 1868, the Lewis family purchased the property and continued to operate it as the Union Hotel until 1889. At that time, the Inn was sold again, this time to Mr. George Van Loon, who renamed our beloved enclave the Central House. When a fire damaged the roof and second floor of the original two-story structure in 1901, George’s son, Nicholas Van Loon, decided to add a large third floor ballroom under a new mansard roof. This addition created the characteristic Victorian facade that you see today"

The Worthington Inn is considered one of Central Ohio's finest restaurants.
