Columbus Halloween Haunts - a poll

Oct. 31, 2009
Categorized in: Polls and quizes
Tagged with: columbus, halloween

What's your personal taste in Halloween haunts Columbus?  It's a poll.

The Columbus Dispatch had an article about the Haunted Hoochie a couple of weeks ago.  It seems part of the Haunted Hoochies scaryness is a simulated  suicide...

Haunted Hoochie - Halloween attraction includes simulated suicide

The article is written by Rita Price.

I've never been to the Haunted Hoochie.  Geographic? It's way out there in Pataskala and I live and work in the Worthington area.  Or am I just too old?  I visited their website earlier this year and it warned it might not be suitable if you are too young or if you are too old.

Is your taste in Halloween fun similar to your taste in scary movies?  Is the Scare-A-Torium in the Northland area scary?  Is the Scare- A-Torium more tame than the Haunted Hoochie? I meant to go.  Never made it.

In the Columbus Dispatch article about the Haunted Hoochie which has been around for years  Rita Price wrote:

"Industry representatives acknowledge that haunted houses outgrew Frankenstein and Dracula long ago. Like amusement parks and their roller-coaster wars, the big Halloween attractions try to one-up one another with increasingly realistic effects and costumes."

It's a poll, choose all that apply or other.  "The Other"  wasn't that a scary movie in the 70s?

 Happy Halloween Columbus!

Maureen McCabe - Trick or Treat 2009 in Central Ohio

I hate writing events posts and I was putting off going looking for Trick or Treat for Columbus, Dublin, Grandview Heights, Gahanna, Hilliard,  Lewis Center, Powell, Upper Arlingto, Westerville and Worthington.

Procrastinate long enough and you can just link to a site like Columbus Parent's Magazine's Kids Linked who has the list of Columbus area Trick or Treat times!

Kids Linked - Trick or Treat 2009  and more

Trick or Treat 2009 in Central Ohio

You really only care about the Beggars Night date for where you live don't you?  Mostly?  Most of the suburbs I really care about Dublin,  Gahanna, Hilliard, New Albany, Powell,  Upper Arlington, and  Worthington are having Beggars Night (Trick or Treat) on Thursday October 29, 2009.  City of Columbus is Thursday October 29, 2009.

Grandview Heights and Westerville have their Beggars Night (Trick or Treat ) on Saturday October 31, 2009, Halloween!  edit should be Saturday!

Trick or Treat 2009 - the mystery of Lewis Center

Lewis Center area? Lewis Center is not on the Kids Linked list but lots of further out areas are.  Lewis Center is not a city...

The Orange Township website shows - the Orange Township Trick or Treat is Halloween, Sunday October 31!  Saturday!  Saturday!  Saturday!

Trick or Treat 2009 in Central Ohio - outlying communities

I wrote "Most of the suburbs I really care about" it's not that I don't care about further out... and Columbus Kids Linked has the scoop on further out and parts of Central Ohio.

Really visit the Kid's Linked site... they have links to many of the community websites on their  local Halloween  calendar, you will want to double check for your kids...  I went to double and triple check Westerville.

The Kids Linked list also has pumpkin shows, corn mazes, haunted houses, haunted train rides...
