Local events "in honor of Christopher Columbus" in Columbus Ohio today include:

11 a.m. wreath-laying ceremony at the Santa Maria - downtown Columbus
12 noon re-dedication of Columbus Day memorial plaque at the Italian Cultural Center, next to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church - Italian Village, Columbus
7 p.m Rock Mill Park in Fairfield County - Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio and Columbus State Community College discussion of Native American views of Columbus Day
