This Weekend - Last weekend of January 2008

Categorized in: Events & Places

Experience Columbus has an RSS feed now.  Click on the little orange icon on the top of the first page and sign up for info on upcoming events via a reader....

You would not know it from the Experience Columbus site but the Grande Winter Ball at the State House is full... if you click on the link Experience Columbus has to the State House, and then scour the Ohio State House site for the Grande Winter Ball you will see that although it is FREE the RSVP list is full.

I hate blogging about upcoming events.  I used to do it every week on Thursday's here.  Now I can't make myself do it.

I'd love to hear from you if you have a comment on the topic of events in Central Ohio, or Experience Columbus . All comments are moderated so you will not see your comment immediately. Thanks.

Experience Columbus

Breaking news...there are changes on the Experience Columbus website.  It has a new look... it has a slide show.  It has  a calendar.  Much easier to navigate than the old site.

The Columbus Dispatch about the new  Experience Columbus  "Visitors bureau retools Web site"

Go look... see what is happening in Central Ohio this weekend.  ExperienceColumbus.com

Bullseyes of hot spots only seem to go just north of OSU...  Easton is a hotspot but Polaris and Tuttle are not... hmmm...

You can find restaurants in the Polaris area even if it's not a hotspot... and I assume shopping and entertainment... are on Experience Columbus even if they are not hotspots with Bullseyes on the map....  I guess Columbus is just too sprawly to show a big map with bullseyes...

"One early plan that was scrapped along the way: letting people post their own photos and experiences of Columbus on the site. Although it sounded like a good idea, the results turned out to be not as professional as Experience Columbus had hoped. "

Yeah! Interesting in this era of user generated media!  It could have been like watching someone else's vacation videos....

Dublin Christmas Shopping

Dec. 15, 2007
Categorized in: Events & Places

Slainte Thursdays were the third Thursday in Historic Dublin according to Experience Columbus. The last SlainteThursday will be December 20, 2007, 4:00 to 9:00, put it on your calendar... especially if you aren't done with your Christmas shopping...

I wonder if Historic Dublin will continue Slainte Thursdays into 2008...

What are Slainte Thursdays? According to the Experience Columbus site an opportunity "to stroll, mingle and browse among quaint shops and attractive streetscapes." Historic Dublin is pretty.

According to the Experience Columbus here's how to pronounce Slainte and what Slainte means ...."Slainte, pronounced Slon-sha, is a friendly and welcoming Gaelic or Celtic Toast, meaning To Your Health."
