REALTORŪ

Foxtrot

REALTORS® Magazine Editor's Note  "Life's  affirmations"  in the August 2006 REALTOR  Magazine has a great Foxtrot cartoon...  someone pronounces REALTOR® 'Real-i-tor."  It is a two syllable word... Real-tor.

Wish I could share the cartoon.... here's the cartoonist's site.  Foxtrot  by Bill Amend.

The editor wrote:

"A great cartoon puts a knowing smile on the reader’s face. With this Foxtrot cartoon, Bill Amend achieved greatness for me—and probably for a lot of you who share my obsession with the pronunciation of the word REALTOR®.

I knew the cartoon was hitting close to home when my oldest son visited my office and saw the strip posted on my computer. “Mom,” he said, “this could be you.” In the back of his 11-year-old mind, he must have been wondering whether I’d consulted with Amend on the wording—right down to the mom repeating “nu-clee-er” three times."

I can relate.

Columbus Best Blogs

There is a Life in Ohio Podcast blog now.  I've been trying to read more Columbus Blogs lately.  I added Skippy.net and JasonsPage.net to my RSS reader recently.  I need to add Lisa's Restaurant Widow blog.  Columbus Blogs is a great place to check for Columbus Blogs or to add your own Columbus Blog

Some Columbus blogs that always catch my eye on Columbus Blog:

One blog that I can never remember by name is I stand corrected. I remember it because it is written by Sven Golly but I never remember the name... I go looking for the blog written by Sven Golly.

I thought there were two "Mama" Blogs on Columbus Blogs but it turns out  "I'm the Mama"  has moved to "The Atheist Mama"

There are Guy blogs in Columbus,  Family Guy and  Contrary Guy (I always think this is Sven Golly not that Sven is Contrary and it is not Sven Golly) and of course there's Columbus Dead Body Guy.   Contrary Guy's blog  is the one with photos of The Big Basket, The Big Corn,  The Big Handed Explorer (wow I never noticed that before),  The Big Stone Head, etc.

Open call for research subjects

Do you drink socially? Do you like beer? Do you like beer some of the time but not all of the time? Are you a beer snob?

I'm looking for willing participants to either submit themselves to an in-depth interview (20 to 30 minutes, can be done over the phone).

Let me know if you want in on the action, I have to complete these puppies by next week. Specify if you are are a beer aficionado or a multi-alcohol consumer.

Merci!!

Sarah, I'd like to nominate Dave, he sounds like a natural.
