globe on the brain

My friend Eric (a REALTOR®)  is directionally challenged. I have had clients make fun of me for  going in circles..and I ususally have a pretty good sense of direction (I don't know right from left... which can cause problems... but during the day with the  sun shining I amaze myself.. and some clients....) I wonder what Eric's client's think when he is going in circles and calling me for directions.  When I see his cell number come up on my desk phone I want to answer it  "Eric's GPS."   At a Tech Users Forum presentation for the new Verizon phones with GPS, I thought of Eric immediately.  Every time I see the Verizon commercial of the man looking for a phone with that feature  and the lady says something like "Sir this is a hardware store!"  I think of Eric.
"Palm GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition
featuring TomTom® NAVIGATOR 5

An Ad in my mailbox....

Transform your Treo™ smartphone into the ultimate navigation solution. Whether you're driving to a new destination, or strolling through an unfamiliar city, the Palm® GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition helps you relax and enjoy the scenery, knowing you'll reach your destination. The voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions let you keep your eyes where they belong - on the road.

Not only can you easily find your way with easy to navigate maps of the entire US and Canada, 4.5 million included points of interest help you find the nearest gas station, restaurants of almost every imaginable flavor, airports, and much more. The pre-installed memory card simplifies setup to get you navigating in minutes."

Even if I am relatively good with directions I want GPS. Doesn't everyone?   I want a Smart Phone too... my cell is a couple of years old... I thought wow... what a deal...then I read 'transform your Treo'  and realized the price is just the GPS Navigator for the cell phone.  Maybe I'll just shave my head and tatto maps on it...

"In Defense of HIStory and BlogHERcon"

This could get confusing.  I heard of BlogHer from Sellsiuso Blog

"To find more great blogs by women, visit BlogHer."

I think the Sellsiuso bloggers are HIMs. I have always assumed they are men.  Smart men...

"In Defense of HIStory and BlogHERcon"  is written about BlogHer by one of the co-founders, Jory Des Jardins.

I work for a company called HER Real Living. We  were HER REALTORS® before we became HER Real Living. the letters H.E.R. are a man's initials, two men really, Harley E. Rouda Sr. founder of the company and Harley E. Rouda Jr. the CEO of Real Living today.

HER Sr. Harley E. Rouda Sr. I have heard of people thinking HER is all women REALTORS®. That is probably easier to think outside of Central Ohio... inside Central Ohio you would see lots of HER signs or now HER Real Living signs with men's names on them.  It is pronounced H. E. R.

History about the HER story. (Columbus Best real estate company)

Jory Des Jardins wrote of why BlogHer came to be:

"I'm amused by all of the brouhaha between the guys and the girls. This issue has heated up in both the print and online realms, with discussion over the alleged blogger gender divide and lack of female political commentary in major metropolitan newspapers."

I love the word "brouhaha"

Q. "What makes BlogHer different from other blogging organizations?"

A. "BlogHer evangelizes blogging by, for and to women."

More Q&A

If I am a HIM can I be a BlogHer?

What is BlogHer's long-term vision?  for "wired women"

Confused?

If you are a blogger (male or female) maybe you can join BlogHer.

If you need help with real estate in Central Ohio, HER Real Living (pick me... pick me...)

If you just enjoy reading a blog about Columbus... Come back to Columbus Best Blog tomorrow... there's bound to be more..

rising inventories

Sunday August 6, 2006

"CENTRAL OHIO REAL ESTATE A SURPLUS OF HOMES"

Subtitled "Hot spots cool off"  Lee Stratton and Mike Pramik  of the Columbus Dispatch covered rising property inventories on the front page of the paper yesterday.

In case you missed it or are not in Columbus, here's the link to the Columbus Dispatch article.  Stats are from the Columbus Board of REALTORS® and HER Real Living.  The article contains lovely charts, maps and graphs, the bar graph above is mine... This is ALL of Central Ohio... light green is inventory, dark green is sold. Look at the link below for a larger version where you can read the numbers.....but look at the graphics in the Dispatch article. Maps, graphs... lovely.

"Available homes pile up in neighborhoods where they usually sell fast"   Upper Arlington, Grandview, Worthington, Clintonville etc.
