I found a Christmas card in November 2007 on a 2005 Christmas entry on this blog (but it's name was Columbus Best Blog ) and it still works... the other card links for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice eCards are all broken say something like:
"Sorry, that link was not valid. Please click here to go to our home page." Actually the 2005 Hanukkah card still works too. The 12 Days of Christmas Card from Jacque Lawson still works... Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, etc. from Discover Columbus. Copyright 2007 Discover Columbus and Maureen McCabe

More specifically "Twas the day before Christmas and all through the Columbus Ohio NAVY refuse collection area... " A note on the City of Columbus website: "* For NAVY collection areas, a collection will be made on Monday, December 24, 2007 and again on Wednesday, January 2, 2008." Think about it... our trash day moved to Monday after Thanksgiving, we get trash pick up on Monday December 24, 2007 our day moves back to Tuesday.... but the next Tuesday is New Years Day so NAVY moves back to Wednesday.... I have a hard time not blogging about trash pick up in Columbus Ohio. The first time I blogged about the system, the schedule, etc. Feb. 21, 2006 - Color Coded Trash is one of the most read entries on this site. Whenever there is a holiday a lot of internet searches end up on it.
If you live in the suburbs of Columbus the municipality should have posted what day trash pick up is... rules, regulations, changes in schedule because of holidays etc. The community profile pages on MaureenMcCabe.com has links to many Central Ohio communities. There's lots of information about all of the winter holidays celebrated by different cultures and religions on the Ohio Public Library Information Network. The Instructional Technology Services of Central Ohio, Inc. site also has info about Chanukah, Ramadan, Christmas and Kwaanza. Mostly cultural info rather than events... I was searching for info on Chanukah in Central Ohio and could not find much....
From Public Broadcasting via Columbus WOSU info about the symbols of the winter holidays including Hanukkah (Chanukah) Ron Orozco wrote : The menorah candelabrum that people light during this Jewish holiday -- and the eight days that it is celebrated -- I say Chanukah.. he says Hanukkah.... (the spell check on one of my blogs says it is Chanukah.) This blog's spell check wants me to spell it Hanukkah too.)
