Beggar's night is on Halloween this year...

City of Columbus - Trick or Treat 2007

A couple of years ago the Columbus Dispatch said of the history of Beggar's Night in Columbus:

"Beggars Night, which could fall as many as four days before Halloween, was started in Columbus at least 90 years ago, originally because a Downtown community party was held on Oct. 31. But the party got too rowdy, according to newspaper accounts, and Columbus police halted it in 1954."

Somehow I always think rowdy wasn't developed until the 1960's... I wonder what rowdy was like in the early 50's?

It looks like most Central Ohio communities are doing Trick or Treat (Beggar's Night) on Halloween. Dublin, Powell, Westerville, Worthington.

Channel 10 has a list of many Central Ohio Communities!

Jumping the gun?  Someone searching for Columbus Beggars Night 2007 ended up on my site in August. 

When is Beggars Night 2007? I'll let you know as soon as I see it....
