I did not know this sort of business operated in Central Ohio.  Columbus Business First had an article about a  Bull service ... bovine breeding service  (Select Sires) for cattle and dairy cows in Plain City.  Select Sires has a new CFO.  According to Columbus Business First :

bull

"Select Sires is a cooperative is owned by 10 farmers nationwide and provides dairy and cattle semen for livestock breeders. It employs 165 at its headquarters in Plain City and does not disclose annual revenue."

Select Sires website says:

"Still America's Best for Balanced Genetics" and "America's Best" and "The Worlds Source for Bovine Genetics"

Select Sires contact info includes:

"I was driving along 315 today and suddenly I realized the leaves are starting to turn!  I guess my denial of the coming of Autumn has to come to an end.  Fine.  Next week I'll buy some squash and accept reality."

Another Food Blogger Rosie share's The Wayback Machine.. a calendar of 'Chicken Soup with Rice' throughout the year....cute.  I recognize Carole King's voice and Maurice Sendak's illustrations... although I swear I never saw this before... I am too old...

"Ohio Farmers are Naturally Resourceful"

The Ohio Farm Bureau will be meeting in Columbus soon.

They'll be talking about  "Farm policy, international trade, state government and politics, private property rights and livestock agriculture"  according to a news release.

"Who is the Ohio Farm Bureau? With over 200,000 members, the Ohio Farm Bureau is Ohio's largest general farm organization. The Ohio Farm Bureau is a federation of 87 county Farm Bureaus representing all 88 counties."

The Farm Bureau' Consumer  website (that's you and me)  is a wealth of information.

Columbus own Nationwide Insurance was a Farm Bureau company until 1954 and continues to be a strong advocate of agriculture and the premier insurance provider of Farm Bureau

Did you know that 1 in 6 Ohioans has an agriculture-related job? Found that on the Ohio Farm Bureau Website.
