Ohio Fall Color Reports

Leaves
Tomorrow is the beginning of Autumn...

According to www.InfoPlease.com :

"At the autumnal equinox (Sept. 23, 2006, 12:03 A.M. EDT), the sun appears to cross the celestial equator, from north to south; this marks the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere."

Ohio Fall Color Reports

"Higher than average rainfall this summer should produce brilliant fall foliage. And high gasoline prices need not keep Ohioans from enjoying the Fall Color season.

“It’s been a wonderful growing season in our state forests and nature preserves,” said Casey Munchel, service forester (ODNR) and fall color expert. “The rain has supported good growth rates, producing thick leaf cover on trees and bushes.

Update will start September 28, 2006 on the state fall color report site

I love the color of Sumac in the fall.  Our old house had a huge sugar maple in the front and the colors were always vibrant and various in one tree.  Nothing better than green, yellow, orange, and red all in one location!

I don't think we have as much Sumac here along the roads as WI, MN and MI have .... I can think of a place right near my office where I see it....Trees are just starting to turn here.  Every once and awhile you see one startting to change.  Looking out my windown now green trees!!!   Thanks for the comment,.

Beautiful picture and report.  Living in Nevada I sort of miss the changing of the seasons we had in Utah where I am from BUT you don't have to shovel sunshine.
