The top five are Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Columbus, Ohio; Bostin and Austin,Texas.
"Of course, just because a city ranks high on the list doesn't make it a den of debauchery. A top-drinking town could be populated by grandmas who imbibe a glass of wine every night to keep their heart healthy. And just because someone tips back a few beers doesn't make them irresponsible."
I heard it first from someone who works at the brewery...
I am shocked. Minneapolis is in the top 5 drunkest cities! I gotta check that article out!
Now that I've checked out the article, I have to laugh. Only 35 cities were in the sample and a great weight was given to residents admitting to having one drink in the last week! I'm a one or two drinks a year person, but most people I know who enjoy alcohol will have at least one beer a week! And that makes the town high on the drunkenness scale? Admission of alcoholism would not surprise me either as we are the health care capitol of the nation: United Health Group, Allina, Medica, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and a myriad of other smaller companies are all blasting us with consumer info about alcohol, smoking, domestic abuse, child neglect, etc. It's funny to think of St. Paul as a drunk town as we pretty much roll up the sidewalks at 7 PM! Funny list.
