Westerville Back to Nature

It's the fourth Friday in May and Westerville is going natural for evening.

I always thought going natural meant naked but according to an online slang dictionary "going natural" now means not shaving your legs (for women) and dressing all saggy and baggy and being hippie-ish...

Maybe I am thinking of  "au natural"?

Urban Dictionary  "au naturel

1) In a natural state, pristine, unadulterated.
2) Not wearing clothes, nude.
3) Not wearing makeup, fresh-faced.

Literally, French: "in the natural state."

"4th Friday Celebration: Back to Nature, 6-9pm, Historic Uptown Westerville. Find out what you’ve been missing, right outside your backdoor! Join personnel from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Westerville Parks and Recreation, Sharon Woods Metro Park, Inniswood Metro Gardens, The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission and the Ohio Division of Wildlife for fun activities and information about the Great Outdoors. The Uptown shops are open late and a host of vendors offering all types of products and services are on display. Enjoy music, food and children's activities. FREE. 614-794-0401"

There is a new Westerville blog... or relatively new... It is the Westerville Uptown Merchants Association... or  (WUMA.)   The Westerville Uptown Merchant's Association's  blog has a wonderful description of their business district:

"Once a stagecoach stop and refuge on the Underground Railroad, Uptown Westerville is steeped in three centuries of progress. The home of Otterbein College, and more than 100 businesses, with its tree-lined streets and eclectic architecture, Uptown Westerville, remains a bustling center of activity, culture, and marketplace destination for visitors and residents alike. Uptown Westerville -- Truly A Place for People"

"WUMA member Brickstreet Communications (www.brickstreet.net). "

Westerville is suburban not urban.....and clothing is required at 4th Friday and I assume always in public throughout Greater Columbus....  The 4th Friday in Westerville is not about nudity or saggy baggy hippie fashion.   "Back to Nature" is about the nearby Columbus Zoo (Powell Ohio), Westerville Parks and Sharon Woods and Inniswood Metro Gardens, two Metro Parks right in Westerville's midst.
