Sep. 24, 2006 - Columbus all hat no cattle?
People don't wear cowboy hats in Columbus Ohio... usually. The Quarter Horse Congress starts when? Soon! There will be cowboy hat wearers in Columbus shortly but if you will excuse the pun Columbus is more of a cap city.... Baseball caps... billed cap... the kind of cap a midwestern farmer would wear to keep the sun off his face.

"Cow-town"???
Current mood: curious
So I just need to ask...why in the world do they call Columbus, OH "Cow-town"??? I have yet to see a cow in this town! Anyone???
Burlington, VT...now that is closer to "Cow-town"!!!
Columbus may be called a Cow-town or Cowtown for some other reason but poor Dee does not get around much if she has never seen a cow in Columbus ... A hint for Dee... use mapping notice wide open ground owned by OSU... think about Ag school.... Ag school what would an Ag school have.....big red barns may be a hint.... Two of the best spots inside 270 to see Columbus Cows are:
Beef Cows - Mapping (near the OSU airport...Dublin mailing address but it is east of Sawmill Road...north of Case, south of Dublin Granville Rd. I think it is within the city limits or maybe OSU land was never annexed?)
Facilities: Beef Center
3638 Kays Avenue
Dublin OH 43017
614-459-4124
Manager: Martin L. Mussard
Herdsman: Gregg E. Fogle
Dairy Cows - Mapping
Facilities: Waterman Dairy Center
2433 Carmack Road
Columbus OH 43210
614-292-6759
Manager: Andy Spring
Manager: John Lemmerman
I tried doing the Google Maps satelite to see if I could zoom in on some cows... I thought I saw them off North Star Road but I believe they are trees.... I guess you can call and schedule an appointment with the OSU cows at either location....
The beef cows that grazed on the Antrim property on Hard Road in Columbus are recently gone....
