Sleepless in Columbus

Columbus already made the worst places to sleep list, Sleepless in Columbus and that was before word of bedbugs....

"Dorm rooms emptied to combat insects" headlines a Columbus Dispatch article on Friday, May 25, 2007 By Kathy Lynn Gray of the Columbus Dispatch.

A Quote from Channel 9 Cinci? TV News Website about the OSU Bedbugs says:

"Students in the Jones Graduate Tower said they discovered bedbugs Monday in three rooms on the ninth and 11th floors. Bedbugs are bloodsucking pests that make their homes in mattresses and bedding. "

I grew up hearing "Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite." I had heard they were back in the USA.

Gray's article in the Columbus Dispatch says:
"Having bedbugs is not unusual when you have this many people living together from such far-flung places," said George Keeney, an OSU entomologist who studies bedbugs. When he heard about the infestation, he hurried over and snagged some of the bugs off a mattress to add to his collection."

Gray's article has a picture of a bed bug... my illustration is an ant.

OSU used Varment Guard. I know Varment Guard from termite exams, termite treatment, carpenter ant treatment and raccoon removal for the sale of real estate.

As we learn more and more about bed bugs, the treatments become effective. It also helps that information like this allows the public to be more aware of Bed Bugs Problems
