Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit

Alice in Wonderland Illustration "Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit"

It's a tradition to say "Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit" the first of the month on Discover Columbus... which until three months ago was Columbus Best Blog... but now there is a new Columbus Best Blog... elsewhere...carry the tradition with the name to Columbus Best Blog?  Or continue the tradition here?

Continue it here.

"Mad as a March hair  ooops hare"  is an old expression.  Lewis Carroll who wrote 'Alice in Wonderland' included a rabbit or hare known as the March Hare.

According to the Wikipedia entry about March Hare:

"Mad as a March hare" was a common phrase in Carroll's time, and appears in John Heywood's collection of proverbs published in 1546."

The Mad Hatter and the March Hare are putting the Dormouse's head in a tea pot... in the Sir John Tenniel illustration.

Fat Rabbit Racing is  Columbus racing ... athalon, arathon... type racing... running, biking, swimming as a committed couch potato... to me it is all sheer madness.   Commit to be Fit is a sponsor of Fat Rabbit Racing.... Chase is a sponsor...

Visit the Fat Rabbit Racing site for

Wild Places, Open Spaces Running Series 2007  The Metro Parks Race Schedule:

"This 7-race series – one race per month is designed for runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts."

"Race Around Chase" has a Wonderland kind of sound to it.....

"Race Around Chase
Date of Event: 4/28/2007

Experience what promises to be one of the most exciting running and walking events in 2007 – the Race Around Chase. The event takes places on the sprawling campus of the JP Morgan Chase Polaris Corporate Center and includes a combination of trails and running paths. Stay after the event and watch the Race Around Chase Criterium Bike races."

I just heard thunder... March is coming in like a lion in Columbus with mad weather... White Rabbitwarm weather with snow on the ground...it is supposed to be in the 50's today.

Who is the other rabbit in Alices Adventures in Wonderland?  The White Rabbit.... a character who makes me think of the lyrics to Jefferson Airplane's song "White Rabbit"

The Illustrations by John Tenniel are  no longer copyrighted according to Wikipedia and that's why I am using them here.... Also because I love them... I have three copies of Carroll's books... I have never liked the story...to read..I saw the play as a child enjoyed it, was in a ballet based on Carroll's stories as a very young child.....  but I tried to read the book and couldn't... drug use?  Madness?   I have always loved many of the phrases in the book and the illustrations...

"Description

Illustration d'origine (1865), par John Tenniel (28 février 1820 – 25 février 1914), du roman de Lewis Carroll, Alice au pays des merveilles"

Happy March ... March madness should be important in Columbus this year.. and one of my favorite holidays is coming up... St. Patrick's Day....

*Love* the Tenniel illustrations, but I also loved the book. And the looking glass....

Maybe you covered this in other Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit posts on First Days of Month, but where is That Wascaly Wabbit?

Wishing you a wonderful March, hare and all. Stay safe on the 17th.

I can't believe I wrote:  "Mad as a March hair"  is an old expression.  Lewis Carroll who wrote 'Alice in Wonderland' included a rabbit or hare known as the March Hare.  I am editing that "hair" to hare...
