Hilliard homes for sale for John...

This one's for John who asked about Hilliard... Hilliard homes for sale brought to you by Maureen McCabe of Real Living HER.   John left a comment on a post showing the number of months of Hilliard homes for sale through February 2010.

Hilliard homes for sale

  Hilliard homes for sale

Other than October 2010 inventory (Hilliard homes for sale) has not been up to the 10.4 months.  It looks as if there was some reconciliation of numbers back in the spring of 2010.  The graph showed 10.6 months when I published the post John commented on.  The last month is often reconciled the following month. Sales trickling in?

Look at the inventory in January 2010 in the link John commented on.  That's dramatic.   That is a lot of homes to sell. There was a tax credit for most home buyers in 2010.

About 6 months of inventory (homes for sale)  is considered a balanced market.  7.2 is not bad.  Hilliard is better than many areas in Central Ohio.

The graph shows homes for sale in the Hilliard City School District for the past 15 months, through April 2011.  The homes in the graph are only single family homes.  There was 7.3 months of inventory (homes for sale) at the end of April.

On a post from 2010 John wrote:

That's a pretty dramatic increase in homes for sale in the area.  I'd be curious to see if the trend has continued considering with the current market.

I commented back....

Most of my market reports now are on

Columbus Curbside Info

Columbus Curbside Curbside Info

and Dublin Curbside Info,  Grandview Curbside Info... Curbside Info for  Lewis Center, Powell, New Albany, Upper Arlington, Westerville,  Worthington and more.

It's been awhile...Happy New Year, the last post I wrote here was December 2010. This site still gets traffic.  The most popular post on this site is about trash pick up information for the city of Columbus... curbside pick up of refuse....color coded trash pick up Columbus style.

This Columbus Curbside Info is different.

Real Living HER introduced Curbside Info yesterday.  You can get the info on ANY home from the street.  No reason to run back to your computer.  Even if you have a "smart:" phone the smartest thing to do might just be to punch in a local phone number and listen for price, details, description.  If you don't have a smart phone, no problem, you can get all the information on ANY property in the Columbus Board of REALTORS MLS (multiple listing service.)  That means it's not just the Real Living HER (formerly known as HER Realtors) listings.

Call me,  Or email me and I can register you for Curbside Info.

New Albany Area, New Columbus School?

Is the "New Albany area" going to get a new school?

Not the Plain Local School District but the area near New Albany (with New Albany or Westerville mailing addresses ) but in the Columbus City School District.  The area is described by the Columbus Dispatch as a "Win-Win Island."  New Albany area residents (northeast Columbus neighborhoods in the Columbus City School District)  go to schools which are a distance away. The children attend schools in Columbus schools which are (is?) on the other side of the Westerville City School District from their Far Northeast Columbus neighborhoods.

Far Northeast Columbus neighborhoods in the Columbus City School District include:

Upper Albany West - Westerville Ohio mailing address

Village at Albany Crossing Others? Future?

Is the New Albany / Westerville area served by Columbus Schools going to get a new school?

I did not see the December 10, 2010 Columbus Dispatch article "Northeast Side needs city school, groups says" written by Bill Bush until today.

I first saw a tweet that made it sound like Columbus schools was planning to build a new school in the City of Columbus in this  Far Northeast area that is in the Columbus City School District.  It was a link to an article in the "Columbus Examiner." The headline from "Columbus Examiner" is titled "Columbus City Schools may build a new school near New Albany."  It has a link to the Columbus Dispatch article.

The group referred to by the Columbus Dispatch article "Northeast Side needs city school, groups says "  is the Central College Community Development Authority.  Bush says in his Columbus Dispatch article "District officials don't seem any more receptive to the latest proposal."

"Any more receptive,"  there was a proposal to build a Columbus school in the area in the past.

The City of Columbus wants a school in the area.  M/I Homes want a school in the area.  Probably people with kids in Upper Albany West and Village at Albany Crossing and future residential developments in the area want a new school.

If the land a 10.4-acre lot from M/I Homes that was expected to be transferred to the City of Columbus last week does not become a school, it will become a park.
