Walter Jones Historical Park and the Mandarin Historical Museum are both located at 11964 Mandarin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223. Call 904-268-0784 or visit http://www.mandarinmuseum.net for more info on the museum and the park. Check out the visual tour of my visit on 9/22/07 to the park at http://www.visualtour.com/show.asp?T=1224341. My husband, a history buff, loved the museum. So did I, but I loved the view of the St. Johns River the most. Check out the view in the picture below. The bridge in the background is a 3-mile bridge that connects southeast Jacksonville to northwest Jacksonville on I-295. I-295 is a bypass around the heart of Jacksonville. (Travelers are sometimes better off just going straight through Jacksonville, but during heavy construction times and rush hours, this route is better. The best route is really a coin toss most of the time.)
