Click on the graphic above
to see a visual tour of Downtown Jacksonville. On the Northbank,
you will find The Jacksonville Landing where many free concerts are
given. On the Southbank, you can stroll along the Riverwalk. You
can find a lot of fun things to do here.
If you like to live close to entertainment,
a condo or apartment overlooking the St. Johns River may be ideal
for you. New constructions abounds.

3800 St. Johns Bluff Road South, Jacksonville, Florida.
The Morocco Shrine Center is the location of a wide range of
events: Car Shows, Annual Rock Shows of the Gem & Mineral
Societies, and other things. On 9/22/07, my husband, Tommy, and I
attended the 19th Annual Rock Show sponsored by the Jacksonville
Gem & Mineral Society. Vendors were present from far and wide
exhibiting and selling their gems, rocks, and jewelry. I learned a
lot, and the hotdog I was craving was great too. Check out the
Morocco Shrine Center's website for more events: http://www.moroccoshrine.org/.
Admission to this event was only $3.00 per person. The hotdog was
$2.00 and a bottle of water was $1.00. Not bad for food at any
event
Flags are by the entrance to the Morocco Temple.
More to
Do:
Another place to see closeby is University of North Florida.
There are hiking trails open to the public on campus grounds,
which will be another day trip for Tommy and I later on.
Jacksonville Beach is about 7 miles from here. Downtown
Jacksonville is about 8 miles in the other direction. In Downtown
Jacksonville, you can walk along the Riverwalk on the south bank
for free and stroll around The Landing for free too ...except for
what you decide to buy!!!

This is the start of a tour around Jacksonville. I was born in Jacksonville, then moved away in 1985. I moved back in 2005. So much has changed in my 20 years away. I have gotten lost going out to UNF where I obtained two degrees, because of the growth in the area. I was accustomed to seeing woods, not development.
