Word of the Day

Posted at 2:49 PM, May. 20, 2007

Recently my daughter, who by the way is getting married in 5 months :), and I were discussing words (check out her and John's blog). Anyway, the subject came up about the use of the word 'subtle' in the article posted on Tuesday, May 15th.   I was mentioning that I remember one of my mom's favorite words to use was 'inimitable'...I told her I had no clue as to how it was spelled or the actual meaning of it but that my mom used it in sentences like 'In your usual inimitable way'.

I did a search online just guessing at the spelling. My first couple of spelling guesses came up with nothing available but then I came across this.   I am possitive this is the word my mother used.  Now use this on your english teacher and friends, or better yet in a game of scrabble!.  See if others know what it means :)

What a GREAT resource the internet is, not only did it bring back memories but I also leaned a new word and its meaning.  Plus Kim and John both learned this too.  Check out some of the online dictionaries...make it a goal to learn a new word everyday!
