Nothing Stays the Same!

Getting a marriage license in Las Vegas has always been a pretty easy task. But may be no more! Currently the Clark County Marriage License Bureau is open 24/7. But it's looking like that may soon come to an end. No money is the culprit.....the proposed hours are from 8am until midnight daily. Will the 70+ wedding chapels object? So far not. August 16th there is a public hearing we will see what happens then! If this goes in effect it will save the county some $150,000 a year in staff and overtime fees.
My husband and I came to Las Vegas to marry in 1964. I don't think we ever gave it it thought that it might be open 24/7. Who wants to be at the marriage license bureau in the middle of the night??? I can't imagine this change, if it goes in effect, will make a lot of difference to the people needing the services.
