Business Planning and Motivation

Today I had the opportunity to attend an all day seminar/class on business planning. I always try to take in something like this during January to help with my motivation and goals for the year. This was by far one of the the best I've attended. Hosted by another real estate company in Las Vegas it was taught by Dave Jenks, co-author of "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent." Most of what I learned can be used by others who are not Real Estate Agents and I thought I would share some with you....
-
Create a personal plan and make process your focus (revisit your plan constantly)
-
Time block to get your focus - priorties on calendar (don't forget to block time for yourself)
-
Get accountability to keep your focus - find someone to keep each other accountable - 10% written goals, 10% action plans, 80% accountability; 2-3 days a year to plan for next year (personal and business), 2-3 hours per month to refocus; and, 20-30 minutes per week to plan.
-
Make sure your enviroment supports your focus
-
Keep your energy to maintain your focus. (Mediate and pray - spiritual energy; exercise and eat - physical energy; hug, kiss, laugh - emotional energy; plan and calendar focus - mental energy; and lead generate - business energy).
