42 Years and Counting

42 years ago today, at just about this time (12
noon), my husband and I arrived in Las Vegas for the first time...a
trip to the court house and the "Little Chapel Around the
Courner"....and we began our life as Mr. and Mrs. "They" said it
wouldn't last
but
we made it last....love made it last....God made it last! We had
only known each other 6 weeks when we made the "plunge"....and I can
honestly say this has been the best 42 years and 6 weeks of my
life. And now 3 grown children later, as the old cliche goes
'time flew by'. Here's wishing my beloved another 42 years (if he
can put up with me!)
In 1997 we came back to Las Vegas to live. Las Vegas has become a part of our lives...not being gamblers or drinkers we enjoy the finer things that Las Vegas gives. The eating, the shows, driving to Red Rock (where there are now tons of houses!), taking a day trip to Mount Charleston on a hot day, driving the neighborhoods and seeing the children playing...Summerlin, Aliante, Green Valley, Mountains Edge, and the new master planned community of Inspirada (in the southern foothills). Taking a ride on the monorail and seeing all the new high rises going up (literally hundreds of them), shopping at the outlet mails (there are 2 of them) and the regular malls (seven, I think).
We thought that things had changed between 1964 and 1997....but it has changed more since. (approximately 65,000 residents in 1964, to a estimated population today of almost 600,000). There is no better place to live with your honey!
