Las Vegas Apartment / Condo Conversions

Posted by Anonymous at 11:04 AM, Feb. 1, 2006

This is going to leave a black mark in Las Vegas. I know the local government is attempting to put the skids on this activity. I have a good friend that has close personal experience with this mess. His Grandmother lived in the same apartment complex for more than twenty (20) years. She lost her husband in 2005 and then was forced out of her home because of this type conversion. She is elderly and couldn't afford to buy the place.

Let's face it, if this trend continues there will be a lot of similar stressful situations and somewhere in the near future lower income groups will be faced with an extreme shortage of affordable housing. Just think about the huge workforce in fast food and thousands of other services within our community. Where will they live and how can they qualify to buy rather than rent?
