ArchivesMay 2007MotivationPosted at 2:16 PM, May. 22, 2007As I recently dealt with a "coming up on the teen years, end of the school year, struggling for her independence, I think I should test my Dad until I wear on his last nerve" issues with my daughter Hanna, I decided that reading her an excerpt from a book I studied a few years ago, Don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements might just help.The Four Agreements are as follows:
1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. 2. Don't Take Anything Personally Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering. 3. Don't Make Assumptions Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life. 4. Always Do Your Best Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret. After passionately reading these to Hanna she batted her Hazel eyes and said "Wow Dad those are great. It is so nice that i have a Dad that knows such cool stuff and chooses to be such a wonderful role model". After drastically reducing the punishment I was going to give her, I realized that she will soon be in the sales industry. Watch out!
Sent to me recently by Steven Poscente, National Training Director/Master Trainer with The Floyd Wickman Team. Over the last 10 years I have taken 3 of Steven's classes (each one full day every week for 8-10 weeks), and those classes and him have made a significant impact on my real estate career. If you are ever looking for an awesome trainer/motivator with a top notch company please send Steven an e-mail at Steve@FloydWickman.com.
Word of the DayPosted at 2:49 PM, May. 20, 2007Recently my daughter, who by the way is getting married in 5 months :), and I were discussing words (check out her and John's blog). Anyway, the subject came up about the use of the word 'subtle' in the article posted on Tuesday, May 15th. I was mentioning that I remember one of my mom's favorite words to use was 'inimitable'...I told her I had no clue as to how it was spelled or the actual meaning of it but that my mom used it in sentences like 'In your usual inimitable way'. I did a search online just guessing at the spelling. My first couple of spelling guesses came up with nothing available but then I came across this. I am possitive this is the word my mother used. Now use this on your english teacher and friends, or better yet in a game of scrabble!. See if others know what it means :) in·im·i·ta·ble

Short Sales - Some Great TipsPosted at 7:32 AM, May. 19, 2007More and more 'Short-Sales' are coming on the market in Las Vegas and Clark County. This is a 'pre-foreclosure' process and I've written about it on here before. In a nutshell here are some tips when considering a short sale.
At last count there were over 10,000 short sales and/or foreclosures available in Clark County, NV ...for additional information on Foreclosures and Short Sales see the articles posted in January 2007 on this blog. { 0 comments } { add comment } { Permanent Link }

Recently five million dollars was granted to be used to revamp the Clark County NV county recorder's office. From new computers complete with new scanners, monitors, and printers to an automated queuing system (which will assign a number to people as they come in). Also, planned are two satellite offices, in Henderson and the northwest. The most looked forward to update will be E-Recording. This will allow for customers to use their office or personal computer to file on line. Now instead of waiting up to 24 hours for 'confirmation on recording' that confirmation will come instantaneously. This is exciting for buyers and sellers and it will make that last day before moving less stressful and will provide the keys to the buyer earlier. The revamping has started and is expected to be completed by late 2007. WD-40 Well, Who Knew...?Posted at 7:31 PM, May. 10, 2007I heard a story of a person who had bought a new pickup. He got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason). He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do; probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was open. A neighbor came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm his paint Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a "water
I received this by e-mail from from someone and have not personally used all of these so please use at your own risk, and as in anything use precaution. I have used WD-40 for the pigeons (on one of my listings) and I personally know it works. 4) Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making it slippery. { 0 comments } { add comment } { Permanent Link }
