Is Marketing more valuable during a boom or a bust? |
As an owner of a marketing company I am constantly trying to acquire new clients. One of the biggest questions I am asking myself is whether real estate professionals place a higher value on marketing when the market is hot or when it is cool. You can certainly make an argument either way.
During a boom you can say that the expense is well worth it because when you have money coming in you can afford the advertising so why not drive even more customers to your business. On the flip side you could argue that it is more valuable during a slow down in the economy because it is necessary to do whatever it takes to weather the storm. The advertising is even more necessary when clients are few and far between.
The reason I ask myself this question is because I am constantly trying to gauge where the source of my business (or lack of business) stems from. Is business good because I am such a great owner that success is inevitable, or is it the booming economy? Am I doing so poorly because I am doing a lousy job running my business, or is it the slumping economy? I would really appreciate everybody's opinion on the matter. Please do not hesitate to leave your feedback.
FYI...I own and operate a business that posts property ads on Craigslist on behalf of real estate professionals. You can check us out on our website or email me if you are curious about how we can help you generate leads or if you have any other questions... www.MyMarketPostings.com
Best of luck out there!!!
