Technology

I have just started this new group where we can get together and discuss the ever changing world of Technology. Please let me know what you think and if there is any new technology that you would like to hear about.
Hi Mary Lou,
What do you mean about where to start?
I have a bit of a background in technology. The question you should ask is: What do I want to accomplish.
In most analysis, you will work backwards from that answer.
Let's say your answer is "I need more buyers"...
Now you would want to quantify that statement, then start figuring what qualities about it you are looking for - do you want people already pre-approved? Or just piles of leads? Different needs, different solutions.
And don't forget the other big question - is this a Pentagon sized budget? Becasue if it is, I'll take 4 whizbanggizmos with extra cream please.
What I mean is simple, try to determine what budget you have available, that will sometimes help determine what kind of solution you can afford.
Feel free to use lots of paper, color crayons and whatever else floats your boat... I personally have a load of pre-quals from 3 years ago that make great scratch paper...
Kind Regards,
Terkel
Hello Terkel,
Thank you for the reply - already I did learn from you. Let me get out the old pre-qualification forms as well and start thinking of what it is I need. Presently I am making a niche in the foreclosures market and I need to be more computer organized in the process of doing alot of BPO and keeping all the companies straight. We always need more buyers that is a daily workload to keep that coming in. I will use the scatch. Thank you for responding and teaching me to ask the right questions.
All the best. Mary Lou
Terkel,
I store files next to my email - is that a good idea? Internet filing I guess?

Mary Lou:
Good question and here is my unbiased answer: I have nothing to sell and no stake in whether or not you follow this advice.
The absolutely best place to start is the CRS (Council of Residential Specialist) 206 two-day technology course. No self interest, just the best tech instructors in the real estate industry presenting a complete synopsis (w/examples, specific tools, emphasis on real estate marketing using today's technology), in-depth, objective….the absolute best "where do I start how do I use it" course going. Again, no selling a particular product or system.
We as CRS 206 instructors (5 of us nationwide) are paid to come in and teach a good course to the benefit of attendees…no commissions on product sales, no personal product sales, etc.
I will be teaching it in upcoming months in St. Croix, Albuquerque, Jackson (TN), Atlanta, College Station (TX) and others. No matter who teaches it, however, take it…you will make money, save money, save time and give your real estate career a wonderful boost!
Go to www.CRS.com to see a course synopsis and schedule.
It's a great day here on the lake in Reston…hope it's a great day wherever you are, too!
