I just received info on program our REALTOR organization is putting together. To summarize.

The Greater Tampa Association of REALTORS (GTAR) has established an outreach program to connect available properties at either a FREE or reduced rate for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Further details can be found on the website establish by our organization at: www.HomesForHope.net

If you own a 2nd home here in Tampa or know of anyone who might have any property they could made available, refer to the above mentioned site.

If you or a person you know are are a victim who would be wanting to take advantage of this relief effort, I will offer my services FREE to verifiable victims (e.g. having prior residence in area hit by Katrina). One may browse the Tampa MLS via my website (www.ForSaleByPete.com). I've asked that such properties be noted in the REMARKS with the "www.HomesForHope.net" comment. However my site has NO means to easily seach them out, and I will provide further reports as we get them into our MLS.

Hello Everyone,

I greatly appreciate John from IC forwarding our team's information to this blog. I had noticed that we were listed under resources for "Animals". We are primarily a K9 Search and Rescue team that uses highly trained dogs to search for missing and deceased people, we do not search for our recover animals. Our team was recently deployed at the request of the Louisiana Governor's office throught the Bear Foundation, a not-for-profit agency that coordinates highly trained volunteer rescue teams for disasters.

Because our team is 100% volunteer, our expenses come from our own pockets and the occasional corporate donation. We typically only provide these services to incidents within 3hrs of Milwaukee, WI. Because of the immense size and scope we could not turn down this request despite the significant financial burden it would place on our members and our team resources.

I am asking that if anyone wishes to make a large or small, tax deductible donation to assist our team in offestting the monumental expenses incurred an to allow our team to restock and replace the equipment and supplies used, that you could visit our website at www.peopleandpaws.org and make a contribution.
