Pet Friendly Pelican Bay

Sep. 27, 2009

After years, and I do mean YEARS, of suggesting to the Sunshine MLS that Realtors need more search fields for pet restrictions, I finally took the ball in my own hands and created a site where all the pet restrictions for Pelican Bay can be found.  I got fed up with having to call every listing agent to find out the exact pet policy for each subdivision whenever I had a Buyer with a pet.  You can find the link to this site on the left hand side of my blog or you can click here on PELICAN BAY PET RESTRICTIONS.

Adam Bialy who helped create the Pelican Bay Pet Restriction SiteMy summertime helper, who is my nephew Adam from Chicago, logged in a lot of man hours calling all the property management companies for the different subdivisions in Pelican Bay.  He complied all the pet information for me.  Now whenever I have a Buyer who has a pet and wants to purchase in Pelican Bay, I can go directly to the site and find out the information in a matter of minutes.  If you have a friend or family member that has a pet and is looking to purchase in Pelican Bay, they will be able to consult this list to know where they can purchase.  Please note that the information on this site can change if subdivisions decide to change their pet policies.  Buyers are advised to verify pet information with current property management companies before making a decision to purchase or rent.

Friday my husband Don and I were headed down to the Sand Bar beach after work on the Pelican Bay tram.  I recently purchased a Flip video and I had it with me.  I managed to capture this video of an alligator attempting to have an Egret dinner. You can see how big the alligator is in this video. I have NEVER seen an alligator jump such as this one did!  Just click on the white triangle to start the video.

I am thrilled to be able to take videos and post them to not only this blog but also on Facebook. Speaking of which.........

Labor Day Labors

Sep. 5, 2009
Categorized in: Pelican Bay Information

Some how I pictured being down at the beach yesterday after I finished work. After all it is Labor Day weekend.  Alas, the skies looked black late yesterday. My husband and I were afraid that if we went to the beach a storm would come and the trams would be shut down because of lightening.  What did we do with our time off?  Started cleaning out the kitchen cabinets in our Avalon rental unit.  We recently had the cabinet fronts redone, put in a new Silestone counter top, a new sink, new garbage disposal and a new faucet.

We thought it would be a good idea to give the insides of the cabinets a thorough cleaning before we started putting back all the "stuff" we took out of the cabinets.  What a fun evening.

Pelican Bay, like all of us, is aging.  Our Avalon unit was built in 1993 and definitely needs some updating. What a difference the new cabinet fronts and counter make!  Here's a shot of the old cabinets:

Here's how the new cabinet fronts look.

Once we get the new tile back splash installed, I'll have to update these photos.

I recently purchase a Flip video and have been experimenting with it. Here is my first sunset video for you to enjoy.

Summertime Rains in Pelican Bay

Afternoon tropical storms are typical in Naples, Florida during the Summer.  It seems that lately whenever I finally finish with work and head to the beach, the sky opens up, thunder roars and rains pour down.  I thought I'd share a couple of videos of my evening at the Sandpiper beach at Pelican Bay in Naples Florida.

Wherever you are this evening, I hope you are staying dry!
