One of the best kept secrets about our area is the low taxes. I am often asked why the taxes are so low, and I think I’ve found out why: the revenue from tourism is the major factor. The taxes melded with the housing prices combine to make the Tri-Lakes area very affordable!
I am told that the cost of living is at least 6% below the national average. Not Bad, Folks!!!
The average home price is $152,000+/- compared to the national average of $230,000. Retirees often cite the moderate housing costs, lower property taxes and our great weather as the major reasons for deciding on this area.
You can find a home on the lake; with a lake view or a golf course view at less than half of what other areas are getting for properties. We’ve got it all!!!
