Halloween Events In and Near Los Gatos in 2009

Happy Halloween!Halloween is fast approaching, but there are still a few more events in and near Los Gatos to get you into the spirit!

At Oak Meadow Park, once again the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce is putting on the Haunted Halloween Forest and Goblyn's Glen (to benefit the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad and more). For tickets and more information, please call 408-395-7433 or visit Website.  Next two events are Friday and Saturday of this week, from 7 - 10pm.

You may not know about the many other fun Halloween related events going on in Silicon Valley, though!  Today I blogged about it on another site of mine, the Valley of Hearts Delight blog. Haunted Harvest Festival at Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos

Happy Halloween in Los Gatos, CA
Starting October 16th, Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos will be transformed into a fantabulous Haunted Harvest Festival. Take a self-guided tour along the Goblin’s Glen. The 102 year old Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad will be riding and the hand-painted carosoul will be cruising. Trick or treating is available for the young ones.Tickets are $2 - $8, depending on how much you do. 

Open from sunset to 10pm on these dates: October 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29 ,30, 31

Oak Meadow Park is located at  200 Blossom Hill Road  (at University Avenue), Los Gatos, CA 95032.

This is a fundraiser which supports several very good local causes: according to the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce, these fun Halloween events  "Benefit The Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad, The Los Gatos Police Foundation, and The Los Gatos Disaster Aid Response Team (D.A.R.T.)."

Are you getting "into the spirit" of Halloween now? Perhaps you're ready to make some plans to celebrate the spooky holiday? Here are a few events near to Los Gatos. You can find a really enormous list of pumpkin patches, haunted houses and other events at Bay Haunting.com too.

It should be noted that unfortunately there will be no Halloween activities or event at Vasona or Oak Meadow Park this year. The Haunted Forest stopped happening in 2005. A local gent wanted to revive it this year but there were too many issues (like getting a bond) and not enough time to pull it off. Maybe next year? I hope so!

October 20, 27 and 31st at the Winchester Mystery House: flashlight tours (these sell out in advance - reserve yours early)

Bella wants to go to the Howling Halloween party in Los Gatos tooOct 26 at Old Town, Los Gatos at 5:30pm:
Howling Halloween. Bring your dog in costume! Benefits the police department's K-9 unit, of course!

October 26 Los Gatos Public Library at 3:30pm: Halloween stories in Flannel for grades pre-k and older.

Friday October 26 in downtown Campbell: Spooky, Spooky Night. There will be Halloween games & activities, candy handouts from the Downtown Campbell Business Association and more. Admission is $5 for anyone aged 4 and up. Members pay just $3. See the website for the

Sunday, October 28 3pm to 4:30 pm: Younger children's costume parade (ages pre-kindergarden through 3rd grade) at the Civic Center Lawn in Los Gatos. For more info, see the Los Gatos Observer article on this fun event.

Sunday, October 28 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Los Gatos Theater: Halloween Scare-A-Thon. Sponsored by the Saratoga Rotary Club, these 6 vintage scary movies are being shown as a fundraiser to benefit Rotaplast.
