Society Dog is once again sponsoring the Howling Halloweendog parade in downtown Los Gatos, which is a fun fundraiser to support the K9 unit of the Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department. This year (2009) it is on Saturday, October 24th from 5 - 6:30 pm with registration starting at 5:30pm outside of Borders in Old Town Los Gatos. Or, if you register online, there's a discount!

Need a place to buy a costume? I spotted a number of them at the downtown Los Gatos Petco store (444 N Santa Cruz Ave). And that costume is reusable too, as the very next day, there's a pet costume contest at Petco in Los Gatos (and apparently every other Petco, but verify it before showing up) at 2pm too!

Yaa Good idea... I had started preparing costume for my pet but is was not too good.. I am planing to have a new costume to join in your program. Can u suggest me the storeto get the cheap costume
I'm sorry, I haven't priced out pet costumes. I would try Petco, Pet People of Los Gatos and Foxy Hound - all in Los Gatos. Maybe check Target too? Best of luck!

Target had some really great pet costumes on sale today -- originally priced at $9.99, but discounted at: $7.99. You can't beat that...especially when compared to Petco or any of the dog specialty stores. OldNavy also has a small selection of costumes at very reasonable prices $15.
Of course, if you're interested in winning the prize at the contest, you better come up with something creative and unique. If I had the time, I would handmake something for my dog -- too bad she got stuck with a mainstream outfit, although I think it's absolutely adorable anyway! :)
Thanks! I was recently at Joann's Fabrics with my daughter (she sews, I don't) and saw costumes there - but only for the smalllest dogs. Still very cute, though.
