I was appaled at the price just to drive around a park to look at Christmas lights.  I haven't lived in California that long and this is another disgusting, money grubbing, pathetic attempt at highway robery.  After a long road trip back home from visiting family, we saw the lights from the road and though a neighborhood had joyfully gathered together to display the lights.  Needless to say we were shocked when we found out that it was actually a park that was charging an arm and a leg to look at the lights!

What, do you get a gift bag or something?  Is there a tour guide?  How about a back massage for that price!  Then I saw a radio station had their name slapped all over the place.  Who was making money off of this disgrace?

5 bucks is still pushing it but I probably would have payed that, but 15 *&^# dollars!!!!  Thats just insane!!!

And the most sad part of it all was that there were people actually paying money and going into it!!!!  What is our human race comming to when there are idiot lemmings who pay for this outragous price just to look at some pretty Christmas lights!  It's more like a "Bah Humbug" and a slap to the face.

Lame....

The annual Fantasy of Lights at Vasona Lake County Park is put on by the Santa Clara County Parks Department. This year, 2008, marked the 10th anniversary of this very, very popular event.  Putting the show together each year is not a small undertaking, and the funds raised from the show are a huge help to this strapped governmental entity.

The show runs each year for about a month. The charge is per car and it's less earlier in December (when the demand is lower) than later in the month (when demand is higher). The show is mostly available by car, but the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad goes by many of them, and that makes for a special train ride for kids and adults too.

SInce you have raised the issue of cost, I'll try to see how much the parks department raises from this event  each year.
