Cheri,
I attended their free seminar here in the NY metro area on 5 May. While the seminar did provide some good ideas of how to grow your referral business, it does come down to your circle of influence (COI) and your willingness to ask them for referrals. The Referrals For Life (RFL) program tells you that you must "earn" the right for their referrals, which IMO is not a bad concept, and to do so you must offer your COI other services that they will need when they are not buying or selling their home (contractors, painters, plumbers, electricians, etc.). This is what they call their Advocate Program.
Do you need to spend four hours there to get the gist of it? Probably not, but you can make the decision for yourself. Go to http://www.salesstrategiesgroupinc.com/, and click on Scripts & Dialogues. The password is success. You can see the "carrot" they dangle out there for the four hours - as the free gift for attending. The real reason it is four hours is get you hyped up about their system so they can eventually take a 30-45 minute break to sign you up for the full-day seminar conducted by the mentor of the speaker you are listening to. I forget the cost of the full-day event, but believe it was around $400.
Lastly, in their opinion, you need to touch your COI 12x per year. My coach and many other coaches will tell you that is way too much. It is only their opinion. Since I just gave you the link to the free gift, you may want to attend the first 2 to 2.5 hours, and leave when they break to sign people up for the full-day event.
Good luck,
Lee Presser
