Why would anyone want to pay up front for leads? REALTORS/agents should
adhere to the procedure that YOU contact, or are CONTACTED, by a fellow
licensee on a referral for a particular area, discuss and agree (in writing)
on a referral fee to be paid WHEN the property closes. These "pre-payment"
arrangements before ANY leads are generated, even when the contact is
licensed, should be discouraged.
Most designations have their own directories/format of which you can contact
fellow CRSs, CRBs, WCR, ePros, etc. If not, you can go to REALTOR.org and
look up agents on NRDS! If not there, contact the State Associations for
possible contacts. Use the Internet, you can pull up websites of most areas
and should from there find a REALTOR.
As a Million + members, we should "put our foot down" and enforce this
procedure. Otherwise, others are making money from US and we will continue
to have these unsubstantiated "leads".
