Why any person in real estate should NOT use Real Estate Client Referrals.
1. They lied. I purchased the $325 plan on 08/18/2006 which was explained
to me by Ms Betty that the leads would be charged to me at $65.00 a piece
for a total of $325. She also had a hot lead ready to purchase a $325k
property now. With some reservation I opted to give this a try and
preceeded to contact the lead that was given. To date which today is Sept
14th 2006 almost a month to date after this HOT lead was given have yet to
actually receive any response from this so called client.
Ok so after many many many calls into the customer service dept and tying
to contact this ever so wonderful Ms Betty who never answers her phone
(352) 256-6264, am told that "we need to give it time", "perhaps you should
send her a letter", "try calling from different phones", "try driving by
the address of the client and leave a business card in the door" the list
goes on and on. The best I thought was maybe they are still on vacation.
So today I called the customer service dept after having the same luck
with another "referral" passed on to me on the 3rd of Sept 2006. Again
today is the 14th. I don't know about you but I surely don't want to keep
calling people 3 or 4 times a few emails then that's it. Anyone ready and
willing to do business would have called you by now.
I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY CALLS FROM ANY CLIENTS
Getting back to todays call into Real Estate Client Referrals. I spoke
with Tammie Auras , Customer Service Manager 1-406-329-7657. We spoke about
the challenges I faced in which not one call was returned by any lead they
had passed forward. I explained that I was waiting for a return call from
the supervisor I had spoken with about a week or so ago and haven't heard
back fom her either. I was informed that I needed to continue trying to
contact the leads given. They were going to continue sending emails and
leaving voice messages however their company has NO POLICY as to time frame
in which THEY consider a lead DEAD. I had inquired as to whether or not
after 30 days, 60 days, 90 days if the client doesn't respond back to them
when would I be refunded my monies back for these dead leads? She replied
again they have NO TIME FRAME POLICY.
I at this point, extremely frustrated with Real Estate Client Referrals
completely, not being able to get through to that "wonderful" sales person
Betty who so prepped me by saying how well scrubbed these leads were, how
she insisted that the $400+ plan was SO MUCH BETTER because your price per
lead is dropped from $65. Ms Tammie Auras was was so extremely rude on the
phone and yet was SO kind to refund me the $127 out of $325 that I paid
because they don't refund you the full amount you pay for leads. Refunds
are made by prorating according to the last level of completion, since
there are different price structures depending on the prepaid amount This
information is so I am told found in the contract that we all sign. I
replied to Tammie Auras that I never signed a contract. She stated oh yes,
you all do. It is an electronic signature in which states that the refund
would be pro rated based on levels : "Refunds are made by prorating
according to the last level of completion, since there are different price structures depending on the prepaid amount" again no page or paragraph or statement by ANY rep or sales person ever stated what or how this was going to be pro rated.
As a REALTOR, we have taken an oath of honesty, integrity and treat people
with compassion. I feel in my opinion that this company has NOT done so.
RealEstateClientReferrals.com in my opinion does not live up to what it
says nor do I feel that they are delivering the level of service that we as
realtors whould expect.
Are they advertising in your area? Have you seen TV ads or newspaper ads or do they have a website that comes up on top for searches in your area? From what I saw your website comes up better than any of the generator sites.
None of these lead generating companies advertise in my area. How can these companies produce leads if they are not out there prospecting for leads? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thank you for taking the time to post this information. I too was contacted by Betty today and I was excited, but still a little leery about it. So I decided to research the company before I made any decisions to fork over $495 for my guaranteed 12 leads in my "exclusive area". I told her I'd call her back after an hour when I got a chance to discuss it with my partner. Boy am I glad I did my research. I guess you gotta follow your gut instict.....if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!
Good luck to you and thanks again for your posting.

These folks at real estate client referrals are the bottom of the barrel. I have not had the pleasure of sending them one dime...Yet, they call me, my office and our agents non stop. They found one of my private numbers online somewhere, one that has been DNC registered for over 3 years. I asked them not to call on the number as it was a DNC registered number. They called again....after 5 calls and 5 requests, they (Steve) said that DNC rules did not apply to Montana. I reported to the Attorney General in Montana his "Company" (Real Estate Client Referrals - an LLC with Jeremiah Thompson as the registered agent )and to the FTC just in case they are mistaken. According to the Montana Attorney General, their DNC laws are stricter than Fed. Oh well. If anyone would like to call the owner of this company direct, his PUBLISHED phone number is (406) 862-5573. I am sure he would appreciate the same professional courtesy that his company offers.

Just had a call from Real Estate Client Referrals in Montana.....nice "sales pitch"....sounded too good to be true...but, why would someone who lives on the east coast hook up with a company in Montana to buy a home here in CT?????? He did a good sales pitch.....said I wanted to check them out on the internet and also speak w/broker/owner of the company. Google provided the info I needed to make a quick, informed decision....Thanks but no thanks......Can't believe all the recent postings to this site....well, on second thought, I can believe all the postings........that's the world we live in today!! I received my second call today from these jerks. The guy's name is Gary Taylor. He was stupid enough to leave me a voice mail message that is quite rude and unprofessional. You better believe I'm calling Jeremiah Taylor ASAP. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR CRAP!
Thanks so much for posting this. They called me and I will not waste my time calling them back. I had a feeling they were one of these companies so I googled the phone number before calling them back about the "1.2 million buyer referral" they had for me. We should be generating our own leads and doing such a good job that we work on a referral basis instead of paying our hard earned money to these "referral services".' Thanks TONS for the post!!!!

To whom it may concern...
I wanted to reply to this post and let everyone know that we have made some serious changes to our policies and personnel to avoid this problem in the future.
First off -- We had numerous complaints about the CS department and how agents were treated prior to my invovement in the company. We have replaced the entire department and are currently working with the BBB to recover our lost status with them. All complaints about our service are responded to professionally and promptly with the utmost attention to detail and concern for both our clients and our agents.
Secondly -- We have instigated a 90-day money back guarantee for any purchase with our company as well as providing packages of referrals where we guarantee closings! We guarantee you will make money with us at that level or your get to use the service for free until you do. Every referral is validated by phone and guaranteed accurate or we will replace that referral with another one at no additional charge.

i just received a phone call today myself. the sales guy called me to tell me he has a buyer in a 400,000 budget. i knew immediately in my gut instinct there was a catch. sure enough, there was. i wrote down the website, and immediately googled them and found this site.

Someone from that number called me today ( i googled the number)and just flat out asked me if I work with buyers. Didn't even give her name. She was just throwing questions out at me. I had no idea who this person was and why she was asking so many questions so when I questioned her about the purpose of her call, she got rude with me and told me she would call another agent. It sounds like friendly Betty.

I'm glad I DIDN'T read this post before I tried the service! I signed up for 16 leads (10 leads for $995 +6 leads free). In my first 6 leads over the last 4 weeks, I have taken 1 listing and 1 sale and another buyer in the works. A couple of the leads I couldn't connect with and they very politely gave me credit for another lead.
I am so amazed at the quality of leads, that I am reinvesting some of the money I am making on these first 2 deals, so I expanded my exclusive territory and signed up for 50 leads + 40 for $4990 today.
I already have a strong business with $10 mil in business last year. I am looking forward to no less than an additional 12 transactions this year from this source, but my guess is that we will end up with closer to 20 additional transactions.
If I were you, I would interview people who are successfully using this system. I was tipped to it by another agent out of my area. I then went about finding other agents from my company around the country who are using the system. All I heard was HIGH praise. I couldn't find a bad review until now.

I have been using RECR for a little over 1 year now. The leads are the BEST that i have ever purchased. I have tried a few other 'lead generation 'companies and the leads were trash but RECR leads are VERIFIED and the clients are glad when i call them to help them with their home search. Not everything will work for everybody, so i think that some of the above comments are out of line. Most agents do not know how to work with internet leads, you have to work them to get results, the results i've gotten have been wonderful. I'm very happy i didn't read these comments before i signed up with RECR. My very first client turned into a closing in less that 4 weeks and since then i've had 3 other closings from RECRs leads. So I have nothing but praise for RECR and i am thankful that RECR called me that day to sign me up.

I have worked with RECR since October 2007 and I am just amazed at some of the commnets I have read. I have received help and good leads from Betty and she is anything but rude.
I think the main reason some struggle with the leads given is that working with internet leads is very different from working face to face with clients or referrals from past clients. You must keep trying to make contact and then you will have success you have worked for.

I am really surprised how many realtors have SO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS THAT THEY CAN WRITE ALL OF THESE COMMENTS. I have been working with RECR for 14 months and have closed 3 deals, RECR keeps me busy. One of my coworkers told me about this website and all the complaints against RECR as she was looking for a referral company to get some business, she asked me if that is the service i use. She will be signing up for RECR as soon as her area becomes available...because of my success with the their referrals. I am thinking that most of the realtors that have posted on this site have never actually tried the service they probably just got a phone call from a RECR representative like i did and decided that it wasn't good for them. Successful realtors do not have time to waste being critical about anything....so i suggest to the above realtors to try RECR and start making some money instead of wasting time voicing your frustration with this current market on the internet .

Being the curious type, I was reading through the string of comments and noticed one thing that I found interesting. The critical comments are very quick to list their market, names, etc. and the ones with the great praise are all anonymous.
Surely you don't think the company found this link and decided they needed to do some damage control.

I have to agree with majority of the posts here. Real Estate Client Referrals is a SCAM!!!
I was stupid enough to sign up for this serivice and have not received any quality leads. The leads that I did receive which by the way was all in the 90 day period and then after that not too much going on, are all waste of time.
Why am I on this post and spending my time writting here, well maybe I am sitting here waiting for the services that I am suppose to have from RECR to kick in. Don't get me wrong I am doing other things as well to market myself and my personal website actually produces more quality leads and closings then this specialty service does, and that is with no work at all with my personal site in trying to improve the page rankings!!
A better policy would be to allow the client to get out of the contract and get a full refund at any point of time. The money that we give to the company is our money and basically being taken out on a lead by lead basis. You should be able to withdrawl the remainder out if you choose to do so.

Just signed up for RECR.com in April 2008. I was charged $500 for 10 leads with no success! Initially I was given a flurry of leads with very low quality. I guess that the flurry of leads was meant to excite me!
I called on April 25th to adjust my program and received no new leads through 05/19/2008.
This is really a quality company!! I think everyone should sign up and give $500.00 away.
I would like to personally thank RECR.com because I only lost $500 and will never use another client referral system every again. Realtors take warning all client referral systems are a waste of money! GET YOUR LEADS ON YOUR OWN!
Hey by the way click this link and view my website I could use the extra hits! www.floridachoicehomes.com

This company is taking advantage of REALTORS. They promise to that you can get your money back but do not follow through. I tried to talk with supervisors but could get nowhere. Before I signed on I check with some of their testimonials, wish I would have done a goole search instead.
THIS COMPANY IS BAD NEWS. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE PLENTY OF MONEY TO THROW DOWN THE DRAIN.

Real Estate Client Referrals lol
Do not use them! Do not use them! Do not use them!
I was told that I had 90 days for a full refund. they only refunded me the unused portion of my initial $500.00 My total refund $198.00 Gee Thanks! This company is the worst! Do not use them! Total waste of money!
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and RECR has until June 4th to respond and to-date they have not responded. If you are like me frustrated with their service or lack of service please jump on the bandwagon and lets all get the appropriate government agencies involved.
RECR promised to build more leads for me a few weeks ago and guess what, not one lead has come in since. Like I have said in previous posts, my personal website has generated more leads for me with no additional SEO work done by me or anyone else.

I found that Real Estate Client referrals is a bad source of leads. I have follw up with the leads and few know that someone mainly a realtor would be calling them to follow-up. They are grabbing leads from foreclosure sites and home search sites then selling them of to us. They represent a good lead service source on the phone then drop you cold without support. I have trying to get back the money I spent on March 19 2008 for over 30 days by speaking with Terry Braun, Amber in customer service and Gary on 06-19-2008. I found that the first purchase of 150 leads for $2000 and a replacement lead for bad contacts within a 7 day period is not true. They are quick to take your money and take it twice. I was billed on 06-16-2008 again for $2477.00 without authorization. I think that they need to refund everybodys money and keep their promise. TAKE NOTICE THAT THEY DEDUCT WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION AND NO NOTICE SO CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS AND LOOKOUT USUALLY 90DAY AFTERS . PLEASE TAKE AND SPREAD THE WORD.
I got an email from Kara at RECR today - very nice tone, telling me she is in Montana and "Mark" signed up on one of her websites and needs an agent in "teeny, tiny" Greentown, IN.
Since it's not the normal referral-type message I get, I decided to check them out and found this posting and others. As I suspected, something's rotten in Montana!
I find it interesting that all of a sudden there are positive comments posted - many without full names or any names at all. If you google the 2-3 who used last names, you aren't going to find any real estate related results, except this blog.
No matter whether there were glowing reviews of RECR or not, I won't use any of the lead "aggregators".

I just got off the phone with "David" from Montana who sent me a hot lead on activerain.com. After his explanations and sales pitch I told him that since I had has a very bad experience with house.com (do not ever use these people either, they are horrible) I was going to do some research on his company and he could call me back. He did not like that at all, saying he wouldn't be available again for one week, to which I replied, "C'mon David, that is the oldest sales pitch in the book". He did not like the fact that I did not sign up right on the stop, for obvious reasons.
I cannot wait to see if he calls me tomorrow.
I googled all the names of the people who left good comments on this, and not one of them are Realtors, or they are the worse Realtors in the US, not to have one hit coming up for their name.....
Try and Google Jan Mc Knight and my favorite, Jim Pattroni , who has sold 10 million so far this year but doesn't have a website.
This would be pretty funny, but really, it isn't, they are taking advantage of Realtors.
For those of us who are on Activerain, we need to make sure that this information is being passed to other Realtors because this company is using the activerain log on their page, to give themselves credibility.
I am sure that there a lot of good honest Realtors getting screwed by the "Davids" of Real Estate Client Referrals.
Referrals are very important to me and II would be honored to work with a refreral in the Miami- Fort Lauderdale areas
RECR trying to sell services to UNLICENSED Sales Agents!?!! - Sep. 12, 2008
Posted by Lauri
I think all of you licensed realtors will find this interesting. I just got a call from Shawn Schrader asking me to sign up for this service. The interesting twist is that I work for a national NEW HOME Builder and am NOT a licensed realtor. When I explained that to him he put me on hold for a minute and came back on saying that it was OK, I could still join the service and get leads. When I asked him why would I want leads when I could not be on a legal contractual document between a buyer and seller he again put me on hold. He came back and said that is was still OK because there were no contracts involved. OH PLEASE, give me a BREAK! Total SCAM!!! They will obviously try to get their money any way they can...even from someone who could NEVER benefit from their SO-CALLED service!! I say...RUN, RUN, RUN!! Don't send these people a dime!! If you have already, chalk it up as lesson learned.

DO NOT, DO NOT USE RECR!!!!! If you want to be SCAMMED, just go ahead and give them your credit card number! I got a call from RECR about 4 months ago and foolishly signed up for the service. Although the girl that called, i remember her name to be Melissa....told me on the phone that IT WAS ONLY $99.00 per lead and my credit card was only going to be charged $99.00 that day because she had 1 lead for me....my credit card was charged the full amount of $2179.00 that day and put into my RECR account. I was sent 4 leads that day (for a total of $396.00 deducted from my RECR account) and 3 of of the leads were about 7 - 8 days old. WHAT A SCAM!!! I alsonoticed that she was trying hard to not let me see the website. I kept asking her about seeing their supposed money back guarantee in writing but she kept talking and trying to direct my attention elsewhere. Another thing is that when i called some of the buyers they said nobody had spoken to them before i called, although Melissa told me that they screen all the leads, and all these buyers want is a 'FREE list of foreclosures', because that is what they were promised when they signed up on RECR's website. One of the buyers said that she signed up on the website www.freelistforclosures.com and another one told me that he signed up on www.forclosedgovernmenthomes.com . This is what the buyers are wanting....they do not want to speak to a realtor!!! The strange thing is that when i get the leads in my inbox it says "this buyer has requested a free list of properties from "just-listed-homes.com" ANOTHER BIG LIE FROM THE PEOPLE IN MISSOULA, MONTANA.
I have checked with the BBB and they told me that RealEstate Client Referrals has a lot of negative feedback from other realtors. I suggest you call them before signing up for this service.
I am so happy that other realtors have taken time out to post on this website...we're all looking out for each other since we know how hard we work in this business to have people like RECR scam us like this.
Well, my business partner Ben Officer just got a call from a "Steve" from RECR. Steve gave the big sales pitch. Had a "referral' named "Rene" that wanted to buy in the small town of Morinville, 15 km north of Edmonton. He pushed hard for us to register. I told him we will think about it and look at our advertising budget. Of course, me being the e-PRO and Ben also being tech savvy, we quickly logged into Realtown and did a search & found this thread. I can't wait for tomorrow for"Steve" to call back. Should be good fun to say, "NO WAY". Oh yes, just to finish, as soon as Ben hung up his cell, my rang. It was Steve cold calling and I was next on his list .ROFL!

Thank you all who wrote to warn us of this company. You just saved me a bundle of money I didn't have to throw away. However, just to be fair, I talked with a well known and experienced Realtor in another area of my city, and he said the leads are less than 50% quality, and you really have to work them, but he has had 4-5 closings and has renewed his contract 3 times. However, enough of you have had bad experiences to keep me away. Thnaks again.

Reply.com misrepresents their services and the leads are not valid. I contacted the leads sent me immediately and could not get a return call or email..they were represented as expecting a call from me. They also promise things verbally that they do not live up to. Have any of you had any experience with the new deals they offer, where they guarantee 2 closings? i. e. the leads will keep coming (good or bad) until you've had the 2 closings.
My gut feelings and what I rread above tell me to not even talk with them... but if this guarantee works, how can you go wrong?

5 bad leads or 100 bad leads, if they are all lousy and do not produce, you have spent good marketing money for bad. Sounds like you will be better off investing those dollars on a mailing campaign or an add.
RE: DO NOT USE -- Real Estate Client Referrals - Jan. 12, 2009
Posted by Humbly Learned my Lesson
I pride myself on the fact that my success is not based on the type of high pressure tactics that Real Estate Client Referrals telephone sales reps are trained to spew (in my case his name was Mitch Waylett, Referral Agent with www.freerealestateclientreferrals.com and www.just-listed-homes.com on 08-16-08) - There was a qualified lead waiting for me to contact her as soon as possible, and if I did not sign up before close of day she would be lost and looking for another Realtor. When I requested time to research the company I was told that RECR receives at least 3-5 leads a month that are turned away in my area regularly. I was guided to the testimonials of other agents, better business logos on their site and repeatedly told about a success story in "my neck of the woods" (over 600kms away - but still in Canada, so I guess that's my neck of the woods) who was making $5M off RECR referrals alone!
I am genuinely embarrassed that I fell for the "money back guarantee" mantra that was repeatedly explained in the most pleasant manner until I was eased into believing that RECR could be trusted. When the "qualified lead" that needed a REALTOR today, repeatedly didn't answer her phone or respond to my emails for a week, I launched a request for refund on her account and a "replacement lead" was granted. Today, I question if the lead ever did exist and interpret the "replacement referral" as another tactic to make me trust RECR, because for the next two months I heard absolutely NOTHING from them. The 3-5 leads that Mitch didn't guarantee, but said he'd be willing to bank on (they'd been there for the previous few months at least), weren't forwarded to me - the exclusive RECR agent for my district.
When I first attempted to get my money refunded with Gary Taylor, Customer Service Representative with RECR on 10-14-08 he effectively gave me the runaround, until he finally mentioned that he is not authorized to process refunds and passed my account file on to Sarah Bennet, Customer Service with RECR on 12-05-08. Either unaware of the ongoing situation, or using another tactic, she tried to upsell me more referrals (which up to this point had not existed) as I continued to explain I was frustrated and no longer comfortable working with RECR and wanted just my refund. Finally on 01-05-09 I received a partial refund from the Customer Service Manager who explained because one of the referrals that I had paid for had already been debitted from my account I could not be refunded in full. Of course, she was talking about the referral that I disputed in the first week and had no trouble getting RECR to replace it on my account. My response to her was that I had never benefitted from that referral and expected it to be refunded as well. Her response to that was to LAUGH.
If you are considering RECR as your lead generation source HEED THIS WARNING FELLOW SALES PROFESSIONALS:
Do your research before agreeing to the fine print! I have only posted what I know to be true - "money back guarantee" is a false quote - As an RECR customer you will not receive your money back, you will only be laughed at by Amber Dwigans - Customer Service Manager. Also note, that although most of my contact was with Real Estate Client Referrals, they own the rights to many different websites and their sheeps hide in the clothing of many different lambs.

I wish I knew about this site before I agreed to the slick sales pitch from Steve of RECR last fall. He, of course, promised a full refund if not satisifed; then, when I was signing up, stayed on the phone with me while I "initialed" their agreement, not giving me time to thoroughly read through it. I quickly recognized the leads-if you want to call them that- were not at all qualified as promised by Steve, and were returned. I canceled the agreement and got a partial refund. I lost $198 for which I received absolutely nothing of value. Hard lesson learned. Its this type of sales person and company that give sales reps a bad name..

For anyone that needs to have someone fight for them to get FULL refunds from this or any other company that they feel defrauded them please call me at 714 287-4486 or email me at Tom@IwantTom.com for info on very inexpensive prepaid legal services ($26.00 per month covers a multitude of issues) .
When I run into a situation like this I just phone up my provider law firm (highest rating in the country) and turn it over to them. Then I use my free time to locate more leads. There is a business opportunity associated with this service for those interested. I do it part time along side my real estate consulting. An extra $500.00 - $2000.00 per month helps and I'm already talking to people anyway. Thanks for your time.

I agree, they promised me my money back within 90 days and when I wanted it back (since all 8 leads I recieved did not return any phonecalls or emails) they refused. They said they would replace the bad leads... so I got more bad leads! They are a waste of money. I am a successful Realtor and am ashamed of myself for getting suckered into this scam.

Regarding the post from Cliff Williams with the company Real Estate Client Referrals.. he is the one who promised me I would get MY MONEY BACK in 90 days if dissatisfied with the program. However, their policy is that they replace leads with new leads. Which would be great if ANY of the leads were decent or actally returned calls and emails. This is a bad company with unethical practices. Don't buy into it. I will be notifying NAR as well as my local boards and real estate commissions to warn other Realtors.

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES OR GIVE THEM ANY MONEY.
Amber Dwigans is the Customer Service Manager and she could not care less about you or your money. according to her the owner is "retired and out of the country" and was extremely rude.
Thank you all for your comments. Money is too hard to come by in this market to blow it away. You have helped me to make my decision not to go with them. I can spend $1980 in other ways to increase my business.

Thanks for your feedback. Real estate times are tough and we know right now anything promising leads are very tempting. I agree with on comment that all the positive comments on here seem to be anonymous. I too got the call and was sceptical but before comitting said I would check them out first. I asked if they had an agent in my area I could call and they said because of privacy they could not give me their number. Well as a Realtor who has to abide by the privacy act and laws I can appreciate that and this sounds genuine, however I am intelligent enough at reading between the lines too.
If anyone in British Columbia has had a good experience with them, dont hesitate to contact me. I would like to hear from you (remember this does not apply to anoymous calls or telelmarketers - Remember I am on the NDCL) This is the only way I will be convinced this system works, however somehow I dont expect a flood of calls...lol

Thanks, Everyone! I was approached by Betty today and almost fell for the whole program but thought I'd better check on it first.
Per what Donna (above) wrote.....If anyone, who is an active Realtor or Broker who has had a GOOD experience with these people, let us know. I really don't care what part of the country the good news comes from...just that you aren't anonymous and are actually a Realtor. Might be interesting to hear from some Buyers who have used their services too.
Thanks again for your help!! Good luck this year! Should be a good one!! J

Unfortunately, I googled RECR- the website they use vs Real Estate Client Referrals and am so sorry I didn't see this. I signed up 4/16/09and have been trying to get a refund ever since. Within 15 minutes of signing up- I knew it was a scam. Their leads were inaccurate and not as promised. I immediately contacted them via phone and email. I have talked with numerous people. None of them are responsive. Their money back guaranteed is as much of a scam as they are. Don't make the same mistake I did. I am working with my credit card company to receive my refund- but it has been such a hassle. I'm totally embarassed that I actually fell for their scam.

Just got a call as well and googled it. After his sales pitch I politely declined his offer. And, trying for a second pitch I told him that I wasn't interested. Before he hung up on me he replied, " Imagine that".
LOL. Jerk. Now for sure I am going to tell real estate agents and Realtors about this company.
I get leads through our inhouse (Weichert ) leadnetwork and some of them don't come through. Imagine paying up front and not closing a sale or listing.
I am glad that I didn't give them my credit card info.

We were promised a HOT lead last year, so my wife signed up for the service. She contacted the lead, and the lead had 1)Never heard of RECR, and 2) was not in the market for the $700K home. My wife callled back complained, and cancelled, and put a stop payment on the transaction.
Today we were contacted by a collections company that is threatening to hammer our credit if we don't pay their $199 non refundable fee, so my wife gave the CC info. I think we'll put a stop on that as well as we haven't received anything for our money.

Shawn Walker was the person who called me.. After I said no he proceeded to e-mail threatening e-mails to me stating he could hurt my business with his local contacts in my area. You would be shocked! Tell you what, for a sales company this is no way to get business. I would run from this one!! I found that the company name was Real Estate Client Referrals (RECR) LLC someone named Clint Miller either runs or is one of their top sales people too. I also found another # 800-977-7058. This is supposed to be their customer service number but no one ever answered. Imagine that!!

The above response is from a real estate agent by the name of Billy Howell in the Broward county Fl. First of all Billy reffered to me as a "him" but i am infact a woman .I contacted him by phone yesterday because I researched "Top agents" in the Broward county,I ran across Mr.Howells profile and felt he would be a motivated hardworking agent to represent a good friend of mine wanting to buy in west Hollywood.I was sadly mistaken, he was rude and extremely unprofessional, if he treats other potential buyers the way he treated me he will gain a negative reputation on his own.I pride myself in in my loyalty and honesty in all the that i do.I treat everyone with the respect that i would like to receive.I work for RE CR and i maintain my personal morals,I'm in the business of helping people,I love meeting and interacting with agents all around the US,I have met some wonderful people who i consider friends and i want nothing more then to make sure they have success in their business.I appreciate the fact that all the above agents have taken the time to research out company, it would be foolish otherwise.Like with any kind of service there will always be those aren't satisfied with the product, it happens it's unfortunately not a perfect world, but they are protected by 90 day money back guarantee, It's in the contract and we do honor that. This is how i see it, you can drink protein muscle building shakes all day but unless you do the workout your not going to see results(trust me i tried) You can have a buyer ready to buy yesterday but unless your willing and motivated to do what your best at your not going to get any anywhere, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink it.For all you serious self motivated agents please contact me personally 406-532-3709 i would love to get to know you and help you succeed!thank you for your time

Clint is one of the biggest scams they have there.. You realtors would do best if you pass the word quickly to stay away from this scamming outfit...all the above people mentioned would sell these "leads" and the csr would have to clean it up it wasnt far..my boyfriend worked there and quit soon after he found out what they were about.. So pleaseplease dont listen to Clint's B.S.

I got rooked in. Disputed the charge on my credit card in March 2009. Credit Card company took action and told me this was settled. Received letter today from a debt collector in NY for payment. Be careful. I'm going to an attorney. I would rather give the money to my attorney than to give it to the debt collector or the scam artist.
Wow, I just went through all the comments. I have to admit, I'm shocked by a lot of them. I've been with RECR almost a year now and haven't had a bit of trouble. When my leads aren't answering the phones or responding, they are replaced. Most leads I've received knew my name when I called and several even contacted me first.
You all said you wanted a real agent that was searchable. Here I am.
Google "Matt Stigliano" or "rerockstar".
I work in San Antonio, Texas with RE/MAX Access.
I doubt my appearance will change anyone's mind, but since everyone seemed to be clamoring for an agent, I thought I'd step up to the plate.
As for Clint, I know him personally as he's my rep at the company. When I have trouble, I give him a call and it's solved. No hassle, no sweat...taken care of.

Just got a call from Robert Wall. Sounds EXACTLY like everyone else's call. Hot lead, limited time offer, money back guarantee, yadda-yadda-yadda. EXcept, he told me he has a relocation lead. I am certified in Relocations, so it caught me offguard. A new spin on the game, so watch for that also.
Thank goodness I was at my computer, Googled them and found this. It's hard enough out there right now without people trying to sell you a "pig in a poke".
My deepest appreciation for everyone who has gone before me, my sympathies and good wishes go out to them. You saved me from making a very expensive mistake!

I just had a horrible experience with them as well. They said you could reject any lead, and when I received the first one (weeks AFTER I kept requesting leads from them) it wasn't viable. When I tried to reject it, they said I could not. When I tried to cancel the service, they resisted, and the credit card company would not reverse the charge. At that point, I contacted RECR again, and their response was:
"On 10 -28 -09 your credit card company upheld your chargeback in our favor we are finished with you."

I just received this letter from RECR:
My name is Brian with Real Estate Client Referrals, a national referral network and agent directory. I have some territories that just became available in Anchorage. I am getting several clients for these areas who want to buy or sell property. I am looking for an agent to brand in these territories. This way after a client calls in and I have verified that they are qualified, and ready, I can forward them to you immediately. This is an exclusive opportunity as I only work with one agent per territory and guarantee closings. If you do not handle Anchorage, I might have the area that you do handle available.
If you would like further information, please call me at 406-532-3713. Thank you for your time.
Funny... I haven't been a licensed agent for almost 4 years! They've got some HOT leads exclusively for me though!

I just received a message from Dennis at (406) 329-7652 that he had a buyer pre-approved for $320,000 looking for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in the Portland area. He left his number as (406) 532-3756.
I may be in my first year of business, but I like information. I did reverse number searches and saw that the calls came from unlisted numbers in Missoula, MT. I then Googled the numbers, which led me to this site, along with several others that share the same negative comments and warnings.
NAR has been good about promoting agents' physical safety, but I am glad we are able to provide each other with valuable warnings.
If anyone has any legitimate questions about real estate in the Portland, OR area, please visit my site or send an email. I would leave my number, but that would be too ironic for this post.

I was just called by a nice lady from RECR, didn't get her name, but she has a client who is getting a divorce in a county I cover and she will give me the lead for $99.00. She never mentioned a contract and said it would be $99.00 per lead. As I was burned by a lead generation company a couple of years ago, I told her I would like more information and she referred me to the website. I still didn't feel comfortable, so went searching for scam info on this company and ran into you guys. Thanks for the headsup and I will certainly know more in the morning when she calls me back. Thanks!

My wife is an agent with ReMax. She was approached 10/8/2009 by RECR. We were under the impression that it was $99 per referral. We were NOT told that my credit card would be docked for the entire $990. The first referral was from an 18 year old student with a part time waitress job. My wife was told that they would replace the lead. Meanwhile I found out that the entire $990 was charged to my card. As of Dec. 2009, the lead was not replaced. I called Discover card & disputed the charge. I then mail a certified letter on 12/8/2009 to RECR asking for a refund & to close the account. RECR told Discover card that the fee was NOT refundable. I then had a rather heated conversation with RECR. (like talking to a brick wall) They contend that since the charge was in dispute that I waived the 90 day refund policy. Even though they received the certified letter 62 days after signing up. I now have supplied all documentation to Discover card & they seem more than willing to charge this back.
It appears that this will be a happy ending to a long drawn out ordeal.

I wish I had of found this site first. Every page on this site state guaranteed leads. When you contact them about the bad leads they say we will replace them and the next one is free. What they do is use up all your paid leads and then tell you we don't replace the free leads. We only replace the paid leads once. The leads do not respond to calls or emails but you are still charged for them most of them can'qualify for a loan but that is our problem because RECR is a fruad and rippoff artist they want your money but don't back up thier advertisement. They told me we have more agents that are happy with them than not happy so if there is nothing else we can do for you. don't respond to this email. They want you to pay 1,980 for about 15 leads and if you don't get a sale in one year they will provide free leads until you get a sale. They don't tell you that they expect you to continue paying during that year. After you have received your leads and don't give them more money you lose your reserved area. That is susposed to be exclusive. BEWARE they have a good sales pitch. and they take all your money up front from your account. They will turn on auto plenish which means they will automatically take more money from your account in the amount you first signed up for. I went in and turned it back off. They are jerks

They have advised me numerous times that the refund is in the mail and nothing for 3 weeks. I hope that all agents read this and do not use this company! I guess my question is: How many people have actually received a refund? Does the word "attorney," or "lawsuit" make any difference to these folks. I think I knew I'd been scammed right after I'd given them nearly $1,000. I requested a refund after my second bogus lead. I'm pretty ripped over this...and at myself for being so damned dumb but I will not let these folks get away with it. Period. At least that's the plan.

I have had repeated calls from this company for at least a year now. First conversation I had with them I asked lots of questions and received very evaisive answers. Asked for their website and once again very evasive. When I found out they wanted my credit card info I immediately ended the conversation. Still to this day call my cell phone even though I have told them I am not interested. I have been in the business for 17 years and am quite capable of producing my own leads. When it comes to any lead generation or referral companies that ask for upfront money I take it as my cue to immediately end the call.

I joined this site about 6 months ago. Most of the leads I have received were for foreclosures <$125k in towns were that doesn't really exist. I was hoping to work with normal buyers in search of all different types of housing. I call to cancel they encourage me to stay. Then I called again to cancel they urged me to stay. I call again to cancel and was told I couldn't cancel even if their representative said I could last time. DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!
For all the real estate agents that have posted on this web site . Thank you. I received a call today and it went to vm because I was busy. I then looked up RECR and everyone has helped. Wether they are good or bas it's helpful. And unfortunately the good out weighs the bad. So I won't bother to call back. Remember if we help each other out like this everyone profits.
Sorry I should have proof read before I posted. It should have said "Wether they are good or bad it's helpful. And unfortunately the bad out weighs the good."

I received an email today from Brian Besel stating that they need an agent/broker to assist a client named Tyrone in my area. I do not even work that area unless they are a walk-in client. This Brian left the name of the company as part of his spill, but he made it hard for me to catch the company name in the conversation. Seemed like he was trying to hide the name of the company in my email and gave me a direct phone number. I am going to send this information to my local board so they can post it on our mls message board about this company for other agents to be aware of.
For all of you who have been taken by this, I use to work for a credit card processing company and you can dispute the charges with your card services. Don't wait, because some of the card companies have a time frame to dispute a charge. You will have to write a letter to the company that has misrepresented themselves to you and make sure they receive it (send certified with return signature) and also you will need to gather up all documentation that you have on the company or emails and make sure you document all calls and dates that you contact the so called leads that you were given. Card services will automatically debit there account for your money and freeze it on your card until the dispute is resolved. I think in my opinion that this page of comments will get you your money back. Print all of the comments and send them with your documentation to card services. If you have used your debit card with your local bank it may be harder to get a refund. You will need to contact them to see what there policies are for chargebacks.
If anyone has a client looking for property in East TN (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville areas). I will be glad to work with them and pay a referral to the agent that refers them to me providing they close with me.
Thanks everyone for your comments on this company. I will not be contacting Brian any time soon except to send him the link to this web page.

I have been contacted several times over the years by companies like this. If I can give any advise it would be this: Never pay for any lead in advance AND If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Beware REALTORS companies like these prey on REALTORS that are really needing a lead. I pay for all referrals after the closing. I would be glad to take any referrals that you have for the Tennessee Smoky Mountain area.

No consistency...
I was registered with them 7 weeks ago and I have no lead yet and they told me I am on waiting list for area, but they lied I was only put on waiting list after 6 weeks. I think they are there to take set up fee and make people corner.
They do not allow anyone to talk to managers ... All Employees caliam they are managers.
If a business does live to end of the bargain in their end of contract and all money including set up fee should be refended...

Yes, I am actually smarter than even my colleagues or friends think I am. I am a licensed TN realtor and was contacted by RECR back in March 2010 but make it a rule not to provide cc info online or via email. Instead, I opened a seperate bank account with the smallest leads fee of $500. Phoned RECR after the bank had closed for the day and provided account info. They were so thrilled that I called back! I received three leads in less than two hours, none were the $225K preapproved lead promised. Two leads--no return calls or email responses, third one cursed me out and hung up. Needless to say, when the bank opened the next morning I closed the account before RECR had a chance to get a dime.

I tried canceling my service with this company. I never received a single referral. I have over twenty territories, so that is pretty rediculous. I was told by the "boss" that I cannot cancel without having a referral for two months, but I only have two months to cancel. You can only cancel your service if the following is met:
- have profile page set up
- No negative feedback
- Attempt to contact first leads
The fact that I have had no leads, I was told, means that I cannot cancel my membership for two months. That is crazy, SO, I cannot cancel for two months, but I only have two months to cancel???? Does that make sense to anybody?

Thank you all very much. I received an email from them late on Sunday (05/09/10) night and thought it could be legitimate. Gave them a call that evening, left a message, and heard back on Monday (05/10/10) while doing showings. They were polite and called back on Tuesday (05/11/10).
I admit that they sounded GOOD. But I ran a Google search and found numerous complaints here, on Active Rain, on RipOffReport.Com...
It was also interesting to see that people with complaints generally signed their names, locations, etc., while positive posts were generally anonymous. That's ... suspicious. It's not right to say that anonymous comments are automatically shills, but it leads to questions.
Any how, I just called them back 5 minutes ago and politely declined the leads.
Thank you VERY much for posting your concerns and complaints.

I have a client named Franklin looking to buy a home in Hope Mills. They have asked me to find them a honest, hardworking agent who is an expert in the area. Call me at 406-532-3709 to discuss potentially working with this client.

I received this today and immediately started to check...
Hi, I need an agent/broker in Salt Lake to assist a client I have named Maria, who has contacted my company, Real Estate Client Referrals to help them with their purchase. With the increase in verified clients contacting me over the last 60 days, and the fact that I do not have an exclusive agent in Salt Lake, I have taken it upon myself to send you and a few other select agents in your area this brief e-mail. Please call me on my direct line, 406-532-3713, if you are interested in working with my clients or have any questions. Look forward to talking to you soon and have a great day.

I received a call from these folks and googled and got this page. Saw a lot of complaints that could have been the same person who had an axe to grind (wacko customer, former employee, etc.). So, I thought I would check out the Better Business Bureau of Montana. Here is what I got:
On 8/28/09 their accreditation with BBB was revoked. Here is why:
6D. Cooperate with BBB in efforts to eliminate the underlying cause of patterns of customer complaints that are identified by BBB.
On May 27, 2008, the BBB met with Real Estate Client Referrals to address a pattern of complaints received by the BBB concerning the quality of leads and fulfillment of the 90 day refund provided by this company. Real Estate Client Referrals states they provide only confirmed leads to their clientele. However, poor quality leads and the lack of the fulfillment of the 90 day refund have both remained as the primary reasons for a volume of complaints submitted against Real Estate Client Referrals through the BBB dispute resolution process.
These guys have an "F" rating from the BBB. The lowest possible rating:
Based on BBB files, this business has a BBB Rating of F on a scale from A+ to F. Reasons for this F rating include:
66 complaints filed against business
4 complaints filed against business that were not resolved
BBB Accreditation was revoked because business failed to comply with agreed BBB standards
Finally, here is a breakdown of complaints over a 36 month period:
BBB processed a total of 66 complaint(s) about this business in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total 66 complaint(s) closed in the last 36 months, 29 were closed in the last 12 months.

Anyone heard this one?: don't sign up for RECF and receive a check for almost $800--the imprint on the check was CTG, Inc., 910 Brooks Street, Missoula. Nothing else--just a check--no explanation. Perhaps cashing the check has you agreeing to join the service?

As recent as June 9, 2010 I received the exact same email as Dee Nott. The only difference was Susie Cantrell was sending me Christina. I thank God for the guidiance to investigate these kind of scams. I read and re-read the email then checked out the phone number, ran the Real Estate Office and ran a check on Susie Cantrell and I eventually ended up here.
For those of you that have paid out your hard earned dollars to these scamers, in this extremely tough real estate market you should let this be a call to arms. I think all of you should write complaint letters to NAR, your Association of Realtors of your State, the Attorney General's Office where this company is located and even check into a Class Action lawsuit or pursue Criminal case with the District Attorney. This is intent to defraud and depending on the amount of dollars it is misdeamenor or felony. I previously worked in the judicial system.

I too am a Realtor who recieved one of these misleading marketing scams from Susie Cantrell. Luckily, my local real estate board has a warning on the board website about these scammers with a link to this page.
I encourage anyone who has had a problem with Real Estate Client Referrals to file a report at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes.

I'm so thankful I came across this blog! I just e-mailed Real Estate Client Referrals about my area, but decided to research them independently of their website. I'm sure I'll be getting phone calls from them now, since they have my information and I can't wait to tell them about this blog and that I won't be needing their services!

Thanks so much for this - I've gotten several emails from these people (apparently Mr Clint Miller is still in business) and it sounded a bit like a scam, so I searched for them and found this.
As hard as Realtors have had it the last couple of years, we don't need shysters like this taking our money!

Dont waste your money, take it from me a former employee there. Most of those people working for them can't get regular jobs due to criminal records. What happened to making an honest dollar?? Those guys should be ashamed.

I work with many realtors, but I'm not one. Here what I know. All referrals companies use a source to get prospective leads that they sell to 5-10 clients at a time. Why would you even pay such a company?
You have a higher chance of getting quality leads with Name, Phone number, Email, Expected time of purchase or move etc.. by setting your own 1 to 5 pages website and run a small PPC campaign. By the way! All the referral companies run some sort of PPC campaign on Google or Yahoo. TIC> TAC> TIC TAC..You can do it yourself. There is no contract. Just imagine this. You want to try a Google PPC for $200. For such a small budget, you can limit your MAX to $2 a click. Before your $200 expires, you will have 100 clicks on your website. ($200/$2 a Click) . You may receive 20 to 30 leads out of the 100 clicks. Out of the 20 to 30 leads, you can close 10% which in this case will be 2 or 3 clients. Does 2 or 3 clients within a month justify your $200 marketing cost? (lol)
If you want sources how to do this, send me a text at 972-591-1336.

In response to Home Buyer. I understand it may be your personal preferrance to not use the internet, but in theses times 90% of all home buyers start on the internet. 90%!!! I have a site and get a lead a month from it.
save your money. they emailed me yesterday and said they had a guy named Pete looking to buy a home!! I emailed back and said what a coincidence I am working with a Pete!! They are all frauds. Leads work like this, you send me a lead I send you a refferal, plain and simple DO NOT DO IT ANY OTHER WAY!!!!

I too had a similar negative experience with this company and warn everybody NOT TO USE THEM!! I was told that I could do the 60 day trial and put up $594.50 for 5 good, quality referrals. I was also told that I would not receive any referrals for buyers looking for homes under $100K. All the referrals I was sent were either under $100K or people who did not contact me or return my calls/emails. When (during the 60 day trial period) I called to cancel, I was told that I would only be getting $198 back, not the full amount. I followed all their rules for disputing referrals and was aghast that i was not receiving my full investment back. In addition, when the manager, Nathan Mitchell, called to cancel my account, he was EXTREMELY rude to me, interrupting me and teling me that I "thought I was above the rules." When I asked to speak with his manager, he said he would not give me that information. I have since tried calling to get the contact of his manager, but am repeatadly told that there is no way to contact his manager. This company is a SCAM and will take your money. they do give referrals, but they are horrible and don't lead to any type of closing.

I fell victim to this company as well. I kept searching online for a source to get good quality leads and I found this company called www.eleadwizard.com that sets you up your own account so you can get your own leads. I have been on the system now for 3 months. I am getting 2-3 leads per day. Many are garbage, but that is the nature of the game, because many people put in bogus contact info. But since I am not paying retail pricing for my leads, I end of generating them for $3-$4 each, so I dont mind going through the bad ones. I have closed 3 deals so far, made $13,432 in gross commission and spent about $800. I think thats a good return on your investment.

Hi there,
I got the e-mail pitch from Brian Besel today and was immediately wary. I'm in Toronto, Canada so just for fun googled the phone number and found this site. Thank you! Now you tell me, how could this outfit located in Montana or wherever have leads for realtors in Canada? Give me a break!
Home Buyer says he doesn't use the internet...so how exactly did he find Real Estate Leads Centre? The truth is that more than 90% of buyers and sellers who aren't referred to a REALTOR by a friend, colleague or relative will use the internet to find one.
Happily, I have treated my clients right over the years and it has paid off in repeat and referral clients for more than 15 years.
You know what they say - if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! Hard work and caring is what pays off at the end of the day and every REALTOR worth his or her salt knows it.
I will send this information to my local Board so they can warn others too.

Thank you for this post. I got my call today. I goggled him while he was talking and saw tis post. When I mentioned this post to my contact, he said, "well you know Starbucks gets complaints too"..Yeah, I get that however Starbucks is a national company and this little compant seems to be generating a lot of complaints. I can see the writing on the wall and will NOT be spending my marketing dollars with this company.
That place is bad. The employees all seem to be desperate single mothers, whom have become victims of sexual harassment, or people out on parole or pre-release. The employers know damn well that when these people get fired the have a limited amount of time to find a job, otherwise they'd go back to jail. This tactic puts an extreme amount of pressure on the employees, and reverts them to an almost primal fear, which causes them to do whatever it takes to survive. Missoula, MT is not very friendly towards ex convicts, even if they've served their time; and the justice system here is as crappy as RECR, if not worse. RECR is the one place that hires anyone. Please do not blame the agents themselves, and blame the employers who are taking advantage of the situations of others.

I just received a call. "I have a Buyer in Chicago looking to spend $950,000 to 1 Million on a 3 Bedroom 2 Bath in Chicago. Since twe are not a Broker we charge $99 per lead. With a minimum of 10". She wanted me to pay $990 to find out the contact info of this buyer. I told her I typed in "Real Estate Client Referrals SCAM" She said the same thing. If you type in Starbucks or Netflick you'll see the same thing? BOTTOM LINE. If someone has a legitimate lead to offer you, they'll want a referral fee of 25% over $99.00

They called me when i was busy. it sounded great. They already had a lead for me and would send it to me as soon as i signed up and authorized my visa to send them the $99 to activate my account. As soon as i got to a computer i sighed off for the lead. They told me i would pay them $99 every time they sent me another lead as they needed someone in Canada to take care of all thier Canadian leads. That was March 2010. I didnt get that lead until May. When i got my Visa at the end of March I had been charged over $1000 upfront. I complained and cancelled. They told me i had to wait 6 months for the refund to come. I waited. I was then told that i waited too long and that i would have to call Visa to get my money back. Its too late for me. They then sent me a token lead with a number that didnt work in September and another in October. They scammed me out of over $1000. They agreed to send me 16 leadsin 2010. The year is almost over. I called them this week to remind them that i still wanted my money back. They said "its too late, you cant just call because you need Christmas money, you should have budgeted better"... now i am mad. Please repost this or send in a link

Yes, I got a message from Susie Cantrell who said she was an agent in Missoula MT and had a client who wanted to buy a home in Florence KY and if I worked with referrals to call her. But, I could tell as the left the phone number upon which to reach her, she was reading it rather than just saying it. And, of course, it was the number you are referencing.
I never called back because when she said she was an agent I assumed she would tell me with what franchise/company and she didn't. FIRST RED FLAG.
I wrote the number down intending to check it out. Just now got around to it after three weeks since getting the call.
Like we don't have enough on our plate as agents without playing these ridiculous games with these fronts for referrals. I report them all to the DO NOT CALL LIST. They have no right to contact me because I have never had a relationship with them and I'm on the no call list - all of my numbers. I suggest others do the same.
Once again these people called me. I quickly logged into RealTown and found my old post from a couple of years ago. Yes, stay away from this company. BEWARE!

Got a call on December 29, 2010 From Ms. Betty : Real estate Client Referrals ,404-532-3778, Missoula MT , that she has a client who wanted to buy a home in Canandaigua NY , the referral is already pre-approved and verified to buy a home for $500k . The referral cost is $99.00 . I said that I am not sure about this , so she said that I have nothing to worry about their clients are pre-approved and verified she actually talks to each clients before she sends or refers them to agents and plus You have 90 days guarantee if it doesn't work then we will refund the money.
So , foolish of me I agreed to this. but she says you have to have $990.00 in your account. I said I only want to try it out one and see if it works. She said again that if one client doesn’t work she will replace with another and plus with 90 days guarantee on money refund I have nothing to worry about.
So , within 2 days I received 5 referrals, when I called my first referral I left a message, no answer, left another message in couple of days and still no answer called again different time and actually spoke with a referral and found out that she is not looking for a house but a land around $30k not a $500k house. The other 4 referrals never called me back. So, I kept trying to contact referrals, leave messages. Then between 1/5/11 and 1/10/11 I received 5 other referrals , and all of $990.00 in my account was used up. I tried the other referrals and no response from referrals.
So, I called Ms. Betty on 1/10/2010 and said I am very disappointed with this referral service since the referrals are not verified and most of them don't call back . I said I want a refund since its only 10 days and you said that I have a 90 days guarantee on money refund. She said no there is no money refund because I used up all of my referrals I said none of these referrals were verified and you misrepresented the information and I got nowhere with this. I asked for a manager she said she is the one. She said I signed contract , what contract? I receive a receipt for charger.
So , why did You Miss Betty Lie on 90 days guarantee of money refund.???? I would have never agreed to this to spend $990.00 without seeing if these referrals are actually working. And $500k Client was a total lie, just to lure me in to this scam. I want my money back since the information was misrepresented and for lying about the verified and approved referrals .
No wonder people say sleep on it before you make decision.

I just received an email from Susie Cantrell with RECR....THANK YOU for your post! I find it so hard to believe that they are still "in business". This is the second attempted scam I've had in the past week. Another one to avoid is the website www.RentalHouses.com. They have been posting my listings on their site for rent and trying to get potential renters to fill out applications and using my name as the contact person with a false email address. I tried reporting it to the BBB but they couldn't do anything. As an organization we need to band together and get rid of these low balls!
Gah. Type in REAL ESTATE CLIENT REFERRALS reviews- and this is the first link that comes up.
why am i so stupid sometimes to buy into this stuff?
Ill tell you why.. cause I, along with alot of people, want to be successful, and, we fell victim to it. we live, and we have to learn and move on.
i could have saved 700 dollars. I got ripped off. All their leads were not qualified, and had no idea how to finance deals. they were not serious buyers. half of them didnt even pick up the phone. what a terrible, terrible company.
not all lead companies are bad. I have dealt with good ones. this one - is really really awful. they are scam artists. TERRIBLE. shame on me, for not checking first.

Thanks for the thread, I just got an email from this compnay telling me about the lead they have just waiting to buy in my area... i admit, i was tempted!
Didn't even respond though and just deleted their email! I never trust companies that want you to pay ahead of time for their hot referral, it seems its just a waste of money. Clients typically don't like being contacted by some stranger, but would rather shop on their own, meet a realtor they get along with and use them.
I think we would all prefer referrals from our satisfied customers, friends and family. Good luck out there everyone!

Like Sharon, I am very glad I also checked out this company. They had sent an e-mail with a client name and proceeded to write he was a qualified buyer ready to buy in the North Valleys. They work with only one "dedicated" realtor in a specific area. But I also was tempted and wrote back that they could call to discuss. They called me this morning and wanted me to deposit nearly $ 2,000.00 in an account for 20 leads. They guarantee that at least one will close. After doing some more research, they are definitely not worth the money. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to post and keep us all safe from these predators. Good luck to all.

These people are a joke. I started the services thinking I would increase my business. All of the "leads" were bogus. Didn't return emails, didn't return calls, numbers didn't work. I called to complain and request a refund during the 60 day period, I was told that I could cancel and get refunded for part of my payment, not the full. They take a "service fee". I was also told that I would get two replacement leads at no charge and could cancel if I was not satisfied with the service after that. Shockingly, the two leads came in after my 60 days was up. So, I could NOT cancel, could NOT get my money back. The representative who told me that I could cancel and get my money back, do not work there anymore. Of course he doesn't.... To me, these people are modern day crooks. They take your money and make empty promises. If anyone gets a call from these people DO NOT DO IT!!!!! If anyone has any questions, please contact me. They say that "I can provide you contact information for agents that are current customers and very satisfied with the service." I requested these people's info, and yet again, didn't get any ones info or a response back.

Immediately after they created my account 3 leads were sent wanting property under 100k.
The system deducted 300 from my pre-paid account. I have left a voicemail and clicked on customer service asking for the 300 to go back in the account.
Will let you all know what happens. Unfortunately - I'm finding this site after the 990 charge!

Betty was great, then she was fired, or relocated or moved or whatever they try to cover their asses with. The service dropped like a ton of lead. I complained and said I would like a refund and got this email in return from Nathan Mitchell (an ass of a client services rep) "Thank you for your email. In the last string I went through and spelled out the services for you, as well as the benefits of the dispute process. I apologize if you don't understand it, but, there's no clearer way to word it. Even though your temper tantrum communications in our string of emails would point against the conclusion, you're an adult, and as an adult you must assume responsibility for your own actions." He is right. I lost my money and have no hope of getting it back because RECR is a bad company, with poor customer service and even worse leads. I am now getting my free leads after spending over $5,000. They don't have valid phone numbers or are on social security income and want me to help them make a million without a penny. Come on! I hate this company. Though I did like dealing with Betty in the beginning, it has fallen far since I signed up.

Fortunately long ago I adopted a policy of NEVER "buying leads". In my opinion, if I can't generate them by providing superior service to existing and, past client or by way of "bonified agent to agent referral, then I don't deserve them, but I certainly would never "buy" leads from anyone who sends me UCE-SPAM to promote their business/scam.

Lead companies seldom generate quality leads.
You have, no doubt, seen lead companies claiming they have target market leads for your business. They target very generally, to produce massive numbers of leads for their own profit, not yours. All seven points here are lies you are literally being sold.
If you have any doubt, book mark this page in your favorites, and investigate each point. These are only a few reasons to generate your own leads.
Lead Generation Company Lie #1. "We Generate Target Market Leads."
For example, some lead companies place pop up ads on massive corporate investment web sites. People looking to invest a very small amount of money see a pop up ad that says "Earn $5,000 per month from home" and opt in, out of hope and curiosity. The lead is targeted to anyone who will enter their information, and then sold to you.
Does that sound like someone looking for a business, or someone who's attention was diverted by fading momentary interest?
Lead Generation Company Lie #2. "We Generate Leads."
The truth is, there are only a handful of lead companies that generate leads, and they are generally very poor quality. The others, buy their leads from them, and re-sell them to you. They, in fact, never generated the "Lead".
Lead Generation Company Lie #3. "Our Leads Are Fresh, 24 Hours Old, Or Less!"
The lead was actually just sold to the company 24 hours ago from another lead company. It could be days, weeks, or months old. Make sure to read all of the details about how the company obtained the lead to begin with.
Lead Generation Company Lie #4. "Leads Are Not Incentivised."
Incentivised means the lead company claims that they did not offer a cash payment, or gift, to the person who become a lead. They are actually posing as a survey company that promises to pay people, for filling out surveys. First, people are asked to fill in their information, so checks can be mailed to them, for surveys taken. After filling out a survey, the lead company informs the survey taker that they will not be paid, unless they sign up for a certain number of offers on a questionnaire. A good example is this:
"Would you like to work from home?" The survey taker checks the box to be paid, and their information is sent to you as a lead. They often have no idea of what just happened, or why you contacted them.
Was the "Lead" incentivised? What do you think?
Lead Generation Company Lie #5. "Company Specific Leads"
Let's say in this example your home business sells vacations. The lead company tells you that their $10 lead is targeted to people that will be interested in vacations. What that really means is, an advertisement was put in a place of interest to people looking for a vacation package, that also sells advertising space to a lead company. The ad placed on the site claims the person can get paid to take vacations, instead of purchasing one, and the shopper opts in.
Is that really a company specific lead?
Lead Generation Company Lie #6. "There Are Millions Of People Looking For A Home Business Every Day."
The truth is, there ARE people looking home businesses every day, but, there are thousands, not millions. Most leads are just the same people falling for these gimmicks, over and over. That's the reason why most home business owners fail. They go broke sorting through costly, poor quality, "Leads".
Is that what you want? Of course not.
Lead Generation Company Lie #7. "We Will Give You 10 Free Leads To Test Our Quality"
A lead company tells you that they will give you 10 leads for trying their leads. What they don't tell you is that when you give them your information, you just became a lead.
The bottom line is, lead companies CAN generate quality leads. However, they never will, because their profit comes from selling millions of poor quality leads. If they were to generate millions of good leads, their employees would use them, quit their jobs, and join a business!
Clint Miller seemed to be legit so I thought they had changed but bought into the lies and was burned for a couple thousand dollars too. Even though Clint is now gone, that company continues to lie and continue the deceptive practices described by so many others on this blog. Be warned, they have not changed as of 2012.
