Some Success With RealtyTrac - May. 31, 2006

I'm just wrapping up the ePro course and feel that I have learned quite a bit. I'm looking forward to putting some of the useful ideas to work as well as getting more involved in some online communities.

I experimented with purchasing leads earlier this year from RealtyTrac. I had a favorable experience once I started purchasing leads at the bulk rate. (I purchased about 8 seller and 7 buyer leads for approximately $350.)  I found that it took a lot of time to follow up immediately with all the leads which I had sent as text messages to my cell. I have closed one deal and have a few buyer leads that will probably eventually close that I got from RealtyTrac.

What I liked about this company is that if the lead turns out to not be immediately ready to buy or sell a property and you notify RealtyTrac in a timely manner, they would credit your account for that lead. You can
put a freeze on your account when you're too busy to handle all the
incoming leads. The leads so far have all been in the moderately priced
homes range. Now I know that if a million dollar lead comes in it's usually a typo. They do sell the leads to a number of agents so you are competing for the business. I have found that if you simply follow up and put in some effort towards helping these buyers or sellers you'll be picked as the agent some of the time.

I will definitely take my account off freeze and purchase more leads when
I have my next lull in business.
