Point2's customer support goddess Jennifer Anderson sent me some information on maximizing the lead generation potential of Point2 sites. I've posted it on my Web site; some of you Point2 site owners may find it helpful. I would be interested in your comments.

I'm weighing in a little late to this discussion, but has anyone lit up the text messaging on their Point2 website? We released it not too long ago. You click a check box to enable it and a few more check boxes to configure it. You can choose what forms and actions on your site will trigger a text message. You can even choose the how a time slot when you messaging is enabled. So leads in the middle of the night will just go to your email. Here's a screen shot of the configuration panel if anyone is interested:

Yes Jeff, I have. Is it working? Well, on Monday, I got the text message that someone had emailed the brochure of a handshake listing on my site 4 times, and had left a message saying she wanted to see it right away because it is a hot deal. I called her within a couple of minutes and did enough pre-qual to find out she is getting married, is the daughter of a past client of my Dad's from 20 years ago and has been warned not to deal with anyone else and she is pre-approved. I was booked solid every evening this week, so I had one of my buyer agents meet her at the house, show it to them, have a talk about agency, get the BAA signed, and then write the offer on it for her on Tuesday night, with conditions to be removed by Saturday.
Does this happen every day? No, but this is not the first instance since the service was launched. Given that people deal with the first person to contact them, this is a oldmine!
This service is awesome! Yes, there are other ways of accomplishing the same result, but this is just another built-in feature of the P2A sites so there is no re-inventing the wheel.

I signed up as a beta tester for that with my P2A site, and it is great!
This afternoon, while listing a home, my Crackberry vibrated in that
special way reserved for SMS, so I excused myself after explaining that it could be someone looking for a house just like theirs. I went outside and called the prospect right away, did a bit of qualifying and then had one of my buyer agents call the prospect to set up an appointment with them this evening, at the office. They came in, signed a BAA, then went to look at the Handshake listing they had enquired about. They are talking about an offer on it overnight, and I have an appointment to list their house tomorrow.
I Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv my P2A site! Contacts from it have made me well over
$100,000 so far this year alone.
Funny - I have the listings split into different pages for different
geo-areas, and I get so many inquiries from out of my area - guess my site must rank well for those searches too.
Now, if only they'll give me the deal on the professional upgrade to
premium. ;-)
