Barbara,
Sorry. I don't know if that original message regarding lead-generating pimps was from you, but if you spent a great deal of time on e-PROTalk, you will have noticed my increasing impatience with the subject of TRYING TO BUY LEADS (Yes, I am yelling!).
We are part of a community of REALTOR's who are supposed to be trying to be on the cutting edge of technology. This, I would think, would include farming, prospecting and generating our own leads.
When we pay pimps to send us leads, all we do is denigrate the work that we do and create a revenue stream for companies that comes directly from our own revenue streams.
Sorry, but there are times I can comment at length about this issue. Then there are times when I can only muster...yeesh!

Hello Barbara, Gregg and all,
I landed on this site as a result of a question I had asked on the e-pro talk .... The essence of my question was, 'will the lead generators get better'? As I read through the comments here, I am finding a lot of "likes and dislikes", and I will keep reading, but no logical opinions. In my economics classes, years ago, I learned about economic advantage. If some one else has an advantage in shoe making, you stop making shoes and buy from them, i.e.; China.
I just want to make sure that my efforts to pruduce leads, with the help of the technology, are going to look similar to what we are seeing with the Printing companies of years ago and PCs.
Or will a large company gain credibility and use the same technology to provide us with a service that we can't survive without.
If one of us got lucky and found a way to generate more leads than we could ever service, just for grins lets say 100 time more, . . . . . . . .
