My experience with Agent Connect - Oct. 4, 2006

John Alspaw wrote,

Has anyone had experience with "Agent Connect".  They sell buyer and Seller leads.  They have a month to month contract which made me think they might actually be good.  It could also mean they make their money in one month and move on to the next pidgeon.  Let me know your experience e-PROs

John,

A month ago (In one of my weaker moments) I got the call from Agent Connect. A very nice salesperson convinced me to sign up for just one zip code for $49. It has been 40 days now and absolutely no contact from Agent Connect after I gave them my info and money.

My gut said "NO" and my mouth said "YES'. Every time this happens I lose! I chalk it up to a pretty inexpensive lesson. "Just say no to the solicitor drug!"

The GURUS say go back to basics when business is slow and they are right! Recently contacting all of my old clients via telephone turned out to be beneficial and at no cost to me!

Realty Tracker -- More of the Same - Jul. 19, 2006

Could any of our ePROs tell us how they feel about Realty Tracker or Agent Connect?

I tried RT for 3 months. They promised 10 leads per month (7 sellers, 3 buyers) in my chosen zip codes. I was pretty surprised, so I gave it a shot. They only ever sent a few per month, so they prorated the amount. According to their contract, they are allowed 2 extra months to deliver the agreed number of leads. So, after 5 full months, I still had not received 30 leads and I dropped the service.

Of the leads I received, a couple buyer leads were actually interested in buying (none of the seller leads panned out), but they eventually dropped off the planet. RT really expects you to find one gem out of ten leads. In our market, where the average home price is around $135K, the net commission doesn't justify the cost of ten leads for one sale. In other markets, it may have been more worthwhile - and there may be more leads.

I will give a thumbs up for their Customer Service.

Input on Agent Connect/Reply.com - Jul. 5, 2006

Anyone do business with Agent Connect?  They seem to have an interesting
proposition, enough so that I am considering violating my personal "no 3rd party interlopers" rule and give these folks a shot at me.

I used Agent Connect/Reply with no success. The few leads that I worked
with either could not get financing or could only afford to buy a house
worth $120,000 and there are none of those in the Destin market.  Other
people I have spoken with did not have a positive experience either - so
I'd 'pass'
