Monsters of Folk

I'm not too familiar with them either, but I bet it will be a good show. The Spreckels Theater is a pretty historic venue too. I just looked it up and they've been in continuous operation for almost 100 years. Make sure you give us a concert review later.

Re "There's not a whole lot of folk to it which makes you wonder" : I felt the same way about the (unfortunately popular) band 'Blues Traveler', which had very little to do with the blues.

It was an excellent show. I highly recommend it if you have a chance to see it. I didn't have great seat but the acoustics in Spreckels theater are superb. If I had to critique one thing it was that there were several solo songs that were very good but it was better, especially since it was a large venue, when then played as a group.
