MINNESOTA DNR DOCK ISSUES

This week the StarTribune published an article entitled: “DNR’s Big Dock Rule Makes Waves” Read the article here: http://www.startribune.com/local/15927317.html. This controversial issue is being discussed in many places by many people throughout Minnesota.

Where the issue stands is that on January 23, 2008 the DNR issued a new 5-year general permit allowing platforms that do not exceed more than 120 square feet - or 170 square feet including the walkway, which can be no more than 5 feet wide. To read about the issue directly from the DNR check this link out from the DNR site: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/input/issues/docks/index.html.
